Well after more than a year of hanging around and participating in this forum, we finally placed our order for our new MKC yesterday! We went back and forth on some of the options but we finally got:

2016 MKC Black Label
- Notorious color
- Indulgence theme
- 2.3L AWD
- Technology Package
- THX II Audio
- Trailer Tow Package
- Climate Package
- Std. Black Label 19” wheels
- All weather mats and cargo area protector

I think the biggest surprise in our purchasing process is that we ended up buying our MKC from a Black Label dealer, Crest Lincoln, in Michigan. We live in Miami. I suppose that’s yet another example of how the car buying process continues to evolve.

I did visit the two Black Label dealers in our area and got price quotes, but I was interesting in getting a third option. Some web surfing later, I found Crest Lincoln. They had a good selection of Black Label MKC’s listed online where one could request an “e-price”, so I asked for one. From that point on Crest and Shannon, their Black Label Specialist, really earned our business.

Can’t wait for updates. Oh, and if anyone talks to Shannon at Crest Lincoln, tell her the guy from Miami says ‘Hi’.

Ooooh, sounds gorgeous. My husband has that blue in his escape titanium, after a fresh clay and wax his coworkers called it the "blue mirror", it's going to look nice. The indulgence is my favorite black label interior (I'm partial to the Browns right now after years of black, but also wouldn't mind a totally blacked out center stage). Did you get the black grille? Must post pictures! I have yet to see one with the black grille option.

Wow, interesting your black label is coming all that way...are they delivering personally to you or to the local dealer for you to pick up?
How long will it take once your order is in? Wonder if any longer for BL vehicles? Post pictures and good luck!

Yes, we got the black grille. On the Black Labels it's the default. You can opt out and get the chrome grille at no cost, but after looking at some of the photos that Shannon at Crest sent us, we preferred the more subdued look of the black grille.

2016 MKC with and without black grille (obviously not ours):

We bought it from Crest because they really earned our business with price and just amazing diligence and niceness. We could have paid for it to be delivered to Miami, but in the end we thought it would be more fun to take a little vacation to go pick it up. Already planning where we want to make stops on the way back to Miami.

We were told we might have delivery/build information as early as today.

Will be happy to post pictures. I'll let my wife take them. Not to brag, but she's a world class photographer who has been exhibited in the Smithsonian in Washington DC and been published in several magazines, including Audubon. OK, I'm bragging a little bit...

Looks great, going to look awesome with the blue!

Even better yet you're going to get it and get to drive it home. Sounds fun. Make sure your wife takes some cool scenic shots along your trip to post the MKC in different scenarios, a photo journal of the MKC's journey! Your wife's the pro, I'm sure she'll know what to do LOL. Keep us posted.

BTW, love taking photos myself but only amateur..what kind of camera(s) does she use?

I'll certainly make sure she takes some great shots, even if she makes me get up at sunrise.

She's a Canon gal. She shoots wildlife with a Canon 7D and landscapes with a Canon 6D.

Some of her photos:

This one was exhibited in the Smithsonian in DC.

This one was one of the ones she has had published in Audubon magazine.

And this one just shows that her idea of a safe zone and mine are very different. She was thigh deep in the water when the alligator showed up. "I couldn't go anywhere, so I just kept shooting. Besides, alligators really don't attack people." -- that's her version of the story.

Nice! Wish I could justify two cameras (and all the lenses) like that LOL but it is her profession...

Yes, those are awesome! I tried all summer to catch a seagull grab a fish! Last week we had baby dolphins in a huge group jumping clear out of the water and I didn't have my camera on the beach, I was so bummed! Is your wife like that?

Cant wait to see her MKC shots!
Hope you can shoot on the road and post as you go.
Have a happy safe trip, so jealous!

Actually, it's not her profession. It's a hobby she's passionate about -- and really good. I suppose she can justify the equipment because we don't have kids and don't have to pay for college!

Bird photography is really tough. Birds in flight is even harder. And birds grabbing stuff is for the real hard core, so you set yourself a good challenge. Patience, I think my wife would say, is key. She's certainly been in situations where she wishes she had had her camera, but then she just enjoys the moment. No pressure that way.

So you were on some coast. East Coast?

Yes, east coast, tip of NJ, summer home. Love late September/October when tourists leave and ocean wildlife comes back to the island. Set my chair up at the edge of the water and wait.... Yes, patience for sure.
Multiple pods of dolphins swimming and playing close to shore, fish everywhere, and I love the baby seagull season! Back by the bay there's more variety of seabirds...and the sunsets...to die for.

Someone on this forum posted some great shots of their MKC near Death Valley and another scenic spot I believe...shots look professional...

I look forward to your wife's shots of your trip after seeing those pics...love the alligator shot, looks like it could be a painting...love shots that look like that. And good luck with your new MKC.
