First Lincolns in China..

Quote:
It was back in 2012 that Lincoln first announced it was expanding into the lucrative Chinese market, and now the first cars have landed. An additional two shipments of Lincolns will arrive by early October to support a series of grand opening events scheduled for later that same month.
Realistically all this means is Lincoln may finally have the cash to start building itself legitimately distinctive product!

First Lincolns arrive in China

Lincoln is a bit late to move into China, but it has finally done so. The first shipment of Lincolns just arrived in Shanghai. Lincoln MKCs and MKZs are the first Lincoln vehicle's to reach China's shores.

This news comes as Lincoln plans to have 8 dealerships open in seven cities by the end of the year. After the MKC and MKZ, Lincoln will launch the next-generation MKX. The MKX Concept was the first concept vehicle to be introduced outside the US by Lincoln.

Quote:
"This is a significant milestone for Lincoln globally. We could not be more excited to show customers the unique environments and experience we've created in our Lincoln dealerships. This is the culmination of months of teamwork and collaboration both in North America and here in China. On behalf of the entire team in China, I want to thank and congratulate the team on both sides of the Pacific," said Robert Parker, president of Lincoln China.

Wasn't China trying to crack down on opulent government officials? I think if government officials get a car, it won't be a luxury vehicle.

on the downside there aren't any pictures of how the vehicles are placed in the ship for transport. I'd be interested in seeing that.

Have you seen the pictures of the Dealerships/new show rooms in China. When are we going to have these in the US? They would certainly help in getting people to consider Lincoln when they are shopping for a new car. It's what helped Lexus win customers.

There are a lot more pictures here:

Lincolns share showrooms with Fords here though, they can't do anything similar until that changes...
