Different Chimes

Hi everyone,

This issue is regarding my Mom's 2015 MKC with 30000 miles.

The other day we remote started our car, got in, and pressed start like normal. But, instead of a tri-tone Lincoln chime inviting us, a Ford chime did instead. We thought this was very odd as earlier it was playing a different chime.

This isn't a very big issue, but we wanted to know if anyone else out there had this.

Thanks!

I had a similar sound anomaly..turned out to be a bad battery...not saying that is your issue. I assume your car is still under warranty...

Garage
This vehicle has many chimes for sure. (Parking brake, setting seat presets, headlights, seat belts).
I have noticed there is a different chime for belts on my 2015 under some conditions (~1% of the car entries) but I did not pay enough attention to what triggered the shift.
No battery issues here though.

As of today, January 19th, 2017, the chime has changed back.. I guess some days it wants to go back to its Ford roots.

My chimes intermittently change too, but of course it never happens when I'm at the dealership!

Hi there - any update to this issue?
My mom's 2015 Lincoln MKC started playing Ford chimes intermittently after a remote start, and now it plays Ford chimes almost exclusively.
The MKC chimes are melodious, polyphonic, and play over the car stereo system. The Ford chimes are monophonic, and play from the instrument cluster speaker (turn signal speaker).
The dealer attempted to reprogram the instrument cluster to no avail.
The dealer has told me that different chimes don't exist for the MKC.
Frustrating.

Yesterday I noticed my MKC started playing different chimes as well. When I shift into R and back out of the garage, the obstruction sensors are not the same sound any more. When I open the driver door with the car running, the warning sound has changed also. My MKC has 29,000 km. It is going in for an oil change in 2 weeks so I am going to ask the dealer about it then.

YES! I noticed this about a year into my ownership experience. It would start when I used the remote start and selected a gear to drive. It would give the Ford chime and not the Lincoln chime. Then it gradually started doing it more. I took it to the dealership with 40k miles and they informed me it was because the battery was bad. I was like...I don't notice any issues with trying to start the SUV or retaining accessory power. It just makes a different chime. They replaced the battery with a brand new one under warranty.

I can't help but think something else is wrong and this will happen again. And then, they're not going to replace the battery. I have a CPO with a 6yr 100k mile warranty...but still.
