First had a 3yr lease on the Eos and loved it, mainly as a warm weather toy as I had an extra car (Acura TL) in the garage. Then when the lease was up I decided to let it go and go back to using the TL. One year later I really missed open top driving and VW had just re-freshened the Eos to a much more sporty look, which I liked very much, so I bought a new one. In the last 7 years I've had 2 Eos's and love the hard top convertible experience. It would be hard to ever go to a rag top.
If you really want one you better act quickly because 2015 was the last year for production and there are a few still hanging around VW lots. You can probably get a great deal. For some reason VW never marketed the Eos hence it wasn't much of a seller, but a lot of people missed out on a good thing. I shopped all of the hard top convert. (BMW, Volvo, Lexus, Mercedes, Infiniti) and the Eos is the only hard top convertible with a fully functional sun roof (and it's as large an opening, if not larger then our MKC's). The Eos has the biggest trunk - with the top down or up of any of the competitors. We go on trips to the beach for 5 days and can fit 2 large soft luggage bags, 2 sand chairs and a beach umbrella in the trunk (with the top open) and still have the entire back seat empty. I'm sure you've seen the complexity of how the top works, and it works well - never had a problem. But the consistency of that hard top complexity makes me a bit angry now that I am having so many glitches with my MKC on items that are far simpler...like Sirius radio or cooled seats...if you know what I mean.
So just to clarify your initial response - your seats blow out cool air on both the seat back as well as seat bottom? Oh well, add it to the list of minor but annoying problems with my MKC. Should have waited for the 16's - I think they will be far more reliable.
