New '17 MKC Owner

Hey! I thought I'd say hello, about a month ago I put in a custom order for a '17 MKC. I was thrilled to see that I have a build date now showing on the Etis web site

Hey Candy, I had to register a new account (messed up password and no admin is replying to help) ...

I'm in Canada so we have less checkboxes to configure the "C" than the U.S. I ordered the 2.3 reserve with the tech package, THX II stereo and tow package. So comparing to the new build config on the US site, that's pretty much every checkbox other than the 20" rims. I didn't care for the look of the rim of the 2016's so opted to stay with the 19s. It's coming in White with the cappuccino and expresso interior. I guess I'll be high on caffeine when driving it

Nice choice kwas4 ....19" are still pretty big rims, I opted for another set of alloys for my winter wheels (aftermarket) with Michelin's ice tires.....make a HUGE differ during winter months....I found the all season just lack any decent grip.I regret mine did not come with the THX sound system, night and day diff from the stock OEM system to the THX....I bought mine new off the lot, pretty much everything I wanted it had, other than the THX.
Liking this Lincoln and it's features and really have zero complaints ( other than the THX)...been thinking about upgrading to a MKX, but we are still trying to work out a decent deal where the "hit" is not too big, if it is, I'll stick with the MKC,which I like plenty....I could use the extra room the MKX offers.....it's doable for me to take a loss of $5,000 but not a penny more!
I've seen a few White with the cappuccino and expresso interior on the dealer's lot recently, and they look real sharp. The 2.3 turbo engine rocks big time, you're going to love it, definitely gives it an edge over the 2.0.... or as mazda says Zoom Zoom lol, bet the anticipation is killing ya heh!

Haha yeah I'm now at the mercy of the shipping companies. I can totally understand the stereo regret you're feeling, my car shopping came down to the MKC vs the Q5. As much as I love the Q5 for it's drivability, little more room than the MKC and the bang and Olufsen option it was a very difficult choice. I just felt the Q5 features were dated and I wasn't willing to wait for the refresh a year+ out. For me the THX upgrade is "ok", I preferred the B&O though over the THX. I was a little disappointed that the Revel isn't an option on the MKC. My brother is a ford employee so between the better feature set and price point the MKC is the better choice.

My current ride I'm trading in is a 2011 Edge Sport, so I can see your attraction to the MKX. As much as I like this ride, I've grown tired of the "heavy" drivability and haven't driven the MKX I don't know if it's similar but I wanted something a little smaller and more fuel efficient for city commuting anyways.

Well, I sat with my sales guy today, and it was NOT a pretty pic....basically the hit would have been in the range of $20 large after all was said and done....when we factored in depreciation, additional up cost of the MKX plus taxes, PDI, and the rest of it.....I just walked away from the idea...I find the MKC has a lot of things going for it that supersede the MKX,weight for one...the roominess difference is not that different, definitely roomier, but not 20 grand roomier LOL.
The '16 MKX I checked out came with the Revel sound system, which was really nice, some features on it were nice to have, but not MUST have's either! There is a distinct upscale feel to the interior, just slightly more so than the MKC's....
What I did not like was the heaviness to the MKX...I love the agility and on demand acceleration the MKC offers...I also found it to be quite thirsty, compared to the C... I'm happy with the C as it stands, I was mostly thinking of more room over the C, but for the two of us, the C's just fine.
Manager at the dealership essentially gave me the X for the day with no strings or timelines attached, as he said, drive to Toronto for a coffee or lunch ( 1.5 hrs away) you get to check it out on the highway and in the city....did not feel like spending most of my day commuting on a 3 hr round trip, so stayed within Peterborough's city limits and drove around for close to an hour....this is where I started to notice the heaviness, unless I was mashing the right foot down to get decent pickup!
Looks like the MKC is here to stay LOL.

Thats outstanding that they gave it to you for the day though. I've never been impressed with the Ford/Lincoln dealerships in town here (Calgary). The dealerships that are conveniently for me are terrible service, so I am a little concerned having to deal with them for the C.

I've been dealing with that same heaviness for the past 5 years haha. The Xs aren't cheap wither so understandable the difference. Pricing online, after you add in the 2.7L and Revel it's over $60k. Still less than an X5 for example but it was more than I wanted to spend myself.
