Picked up a '16 (White Platinum, Reserve 300A, 20" rims) leftover with my X-Plan and a bunch of incentives a few weeks ago. I was considering a similarly loaded Edge but a number of factors pushed me to the MKC:
* Size: The dealer allowed me to park my wife's Mazda CX-9, the Edge and the MKC side-by-side. The Edge was almost as big as the CX-9 without having the 3rd row seating. We don't need two behemoth crossovers.
* Power: The 2.3L Ecoboost beat out the 3.5L V-6 in the Edge for power, torque and seat-of-the-pants acceleration.
* Nostalgia: My '79 Mustang had a 2.3L turbo and the MKC is similar in size to my old '89 Bronco II.
Add in the fact that my Dad drove Lincolns for years and it was almost a foregone conclusion that I'd take home the MKC.
I believe that's it's a nice compliment to my Mustang GT and the wife's CX-9. In the past two weeks, I've driven it to Laconia, New Hampshire (25.6 MPG) and Raleigh, North Carolina (26.4 MPG). So far, I'm completely pleased. No unwelcome surprises or issues to report.
Unlike my highly-modded Mustang, I don' believe that I'll be taking a wrench to this vehicle until the maintenance plan has expired.
Glad to have found the forum - many of my questions were answered here before I visited my dealer.
