What good is the factory warranty?

So a few months ago, I noticed a weird thing with front passenger seat. On the side by the center console, below the leather, the fabric material had a "pucker" in it and was loose -- looked like it was disattached from the seat cover just a bit, maybe 2 inches. when I next brought it in for service, I asked the dealer to check it.

they did. took and sent photos to ford to get a repair authorized. unfortunately in diagnosing this, the dealer service dept actually expanded the area with the cloth not attached to seat bottom; it's now like 6-7 inches.

today we learned that Ford is declining to fix! not sure the reasoning. this is a 2019 MKC with around 10k miles, not yet a year old.

this is not something the end user could have caused -- it's down in that space between console and seat bottom.
I just don't understand why they'd push back on this at all.

has anyone had similar experiences w/ Lincoln?
I'm open any/all advice, strategies, etc.

thanks!

Don't talk to Ford...Talk to Lincoln Concierge.

Good luck.

Do not accept this. Did you bring the car to a Ford or Lincoln dealer? Regardless, the claim should have been sent to Lincoln. Contact your concierge...if they can't/won't help then go higher and contact someone in the Lincoln executive office. This is what I had to do to get several issues resolved. I got a fast response after I did this and my issues resolved.

the dealer's been great and sees what I see -- and has agreed to try to repair (and if not, replace) the lower seat cover.

I got Concierge involved anyway, because I wanted to understand why Ford would reject what seems a clearly valid claim.

as best as I can tell, the problem was the wording used by the adviser in the report sent to Ford.

Definitely in the camp with contacting the Lincoln concierge. Got every single one of my problems that dealership couldn't (they were nice about it, but couldn't get higher up to approve) taken care of.
