Hi Forum, I’m about to put my 3rd set of tires on my 2015 MKC with 95K. The two previous OEM sets were Pirelli Nero from the dealer and haven’t been too thrilled with them although I did get 40K from them both but as they aged they became noisy and choppy at low cruising speed. For this next round, I’m thinking about installing the OEM Michelin Latitude from my dealer. Has anyone had similar experience and selection? Thanks !!
Alzee77, I'm at 93k and about to put on my third set also.
Michelin Latitudes OEM
Michelin Premier set two
Both sets got slappy, noisy at the end. This is pretty much expected.
Each had the last 10k miles with sneaky belt separation issues (both sets). Just gets you far enough where getting the pro-rata dollars back on new ones is ridiculous.
Tomorrow I am having a set of Continental Cross Contact LX 25s (from TR) put on.
They looked best for my situation. Oh, I have 18" wheels because I tow a 3000# boat trailer a fair amount
I replaced the 20 inch Pirelli tires with the same Pirellis. There are not many tires available that size. The new tires ride quiet and smooth just like when the MKC was new.
So I went ahead and put a set of Michelin Lattitude on my MKC and am I so ever pleased. The ride, handling and noise level have exceeded my expectations. Now granted they are new tires but I do not recall this much of a difference with the previous Pirelli set. I think I’ll become a Michelin man...
I have 25k and I have already replaced my factory Michelin tires, my dad made 31k. Both of use had rear tire cupping with right rear wearing out first. Neither of us rotated our tires, I know that is terrible.
I put cheap Walmart general tires on that were rated at 700 A A
Am I the only one with Nitto Motivo tires? I have 20" so my selections may be a bit different than y'alls. A bit louder than I like at slow speed but nothing else to complain so far. Wear is good.
I went PureContact LS for ours. I was originally looking at the General RT43, but the local Ford dealer was doing $1 over cost on the Conti's. I've had really good luck with recent Conti's so went with them.
They are much better than the Michelin's, which surprisingly didn't age will for us. That was honestly, the first Michelin I've been disappointed with. We have the Reserve with 19's.
