climate control cold, then hot

Having some trouble with the climate control as I get cold air through vents with a/c off until the climate control is dialed up to 72 degrees, then hot air. Same for both passenger and driver control. It doesn't seem like there is any "warm" blend with not heat until set at 72. Is this normal for MKC climate control. No change with cabin recirculation or with fresh air setting.

When you select Auto and the desired temperature the ambient temperature sensor outside and inside and the solar load sensor in the middle of the dash are key inputs as to how the climate control will perform. This includes what vents to select. If it’s a bright sunny day it will use the vents to cool the cabin and you. See if it works the same at night. The key is set your desired temperature in auto mode and let the system do its job. If that doesn’t work Depending on the year of your there may be a TSB for a fix.
