Gas Gage

Does anyone find the gas gage erratic ?

I only drove 17 miles & the needle fell between Full & 3/4 Full.
Next time i started my MKC it was closer to full again.

Don't know how i will like the 15 gallon gas tank.
My last car said i have 450 miles to empty on a full tank.
The MKC says 280 miles to empty on a full tank.

You were almost empty.
Did it start out with lower gas mileage?

There has to be an MPG display somewhere as well, right? Does it match what you are seeing? If not maybe you have a slow leak somewhere?

I've noticed that on mine: the fuel gauge seems to go down "faster" and then after shutting the car off and turning it back it, it ends up starting "higher" than previously where it was at. Needle was just below halfway mark when I got home from work today. When I went out again, the needle started above the halfway mark...
