Wow Early vs Late 2015 Results!!
As some of you know we recently replaced a totaled "Early 2015" with a later build date 2015. Although it feels pretty identical, I did notice one HUGE difference with the new one. MPG!!
Now, we took a few trips with the "old" one and the best overall tank mileage we were able to get was 23.6mpg while running Shell 93 octane (about 260 miles or so). We just came back from a trip with the new one and my mind was blown. On the way there, running Shell 93 (10% Ethanol), we averaged 27.4 mpg, the speed average was 69.3mph while running the A/C. We were fully loaded (camping) with 3 people in the car. On the return home, I filled with BP 91 Octane (no Ethanol) and she clocked in at 28.6mpg on the way home, with an average speed of 71.5mph with the A/C on.
I couldn't be more thrilled!! I know this SUV is about 4000 lbs. and to get that close to 30mpg is outstanding!!
My question is this, does anyone know what changes were made? This definitely seems to be a software change. Maybe the updated software pulls more timing during highway speeds.
