MKC makes its Commercial Debut

in a new Lincoln piece they again dip deep into the history pool and try and equate their heyday with their current mayday...

C'mon boys, aint nobody got time for Cadillac.

Lincoln certainly is doing good things with its advertising. The one about the history of the brand is great. It only makes you want to buy the car if you think that the newest fleet of vehicles actually measures up to the successes of Lincoln's past. Personally, I think that it is too soon to say. I want to see a few more models before I decide what to think of Lincoln as a whole. The MKC is great though. More of that please.

I agree. I love their vehicles of the past, they were boats but to me, like Yachts!

Still looking forward to the day I get to own the next gen MKS, need that big Lincoln V8!

That was my 1st thought, but if you look at this frame there are differences to the tail light structure at the end, and the rear bumper has a long up-curve to it - not so on the MKZ:

Too bad the video was not HD and it might be easer to see if indeed it is different.

I know Cadillac did something similar a few yrs back, but again not easy to tell for sure.

Im actually more amped for the MKC than I was for the MKZ, in part due to these commercials and promos. Lincoln did a good job.

even more so that current new lincolns don't relate to the past at all, not a bit.

That is a strange part of the strategy. Its not like Porsche where the 911 has basically looked the same for X amount of years. Lincolns look completely different now from what they looked like in the past. The new signature grille has nothing to do with anything from Lincoln's history. I wonder why they didn't try t relate a bit more to the past when they came up with the new design language. Cadillac certainly still has influence from its past.
