Check Parking Aid

A few weeks ago, I started getting an intermittent warning to Check Parking Aid as I shifted into D or R. The fault eventually became constant. No proximity sensors, no auto parallel parking, no rear cross traffic alert.

Dealer worked on it yesterday. The repair order showed a corroded connector inside the front bumper / wheel well, which is kind of ironic since I used to make sealed automotive connectors for Ford...

I called the Service Adviser this morning to get some more information. All he could tell me was that the connector had been exposed to repeated moisture to the point that the brass contacts began to corrode. This was the first occurrence he was aware of for this type of defect.

Everything was repaired under warranty and all sensors are now working correctly.
