Jalopnik tries out the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Jalopnik has a 2015 Lincoln MKC right now. They just have a small write up right now that goes over some likes and dislikes. I've quoted them below.

Quote:
Things I like: The 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo four (with 285 horsepower and 305 pound feet of torque here) has a lot more punch than I expected; not at all bad-looking, and probably the best use of that goofy Lincoln grille so far; interior is stylish and comfortable; seems well-built and well-equipped; great sound system.

Things I don't like as much: Throttle is too twitchy; handling is too soft; while it's quicker than expected, it's not what I consider fun to drive; transmission buttons on the center panel are weird; 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway is not impressive at all.
We will have to check back for a more complete review over the next week.

I Have A 2015 Lincoln MKC For The Next Week

did Jalopnik by chance preface what would make the MKC fun to drive? Let me guess, MT, V8, brown and a station wagon? Handling too soft, **** man get a mustang, throttle too twitchy, WELL WHAT IS IT you want sporty and now you don't?

They're just kids in a sandbox, oh and his MPG numbers are probably result of 'quicker than expected'...
midnite cruiser and 2015 MSM like this.

Lol, I know this is an old post but such an accurate depiction of Jalopnik. I'm terrified at the slow "Jalopnification" of automotive journalism that is currently taking place. Both from them being hired on at the "buff books" as they call them, and from that mainstream's attempt to mimic and play to that crowd.

And as a former Mustang owner, they hate those, too.

Regarding MPG I'm consistently getting better than the highway rating with my 2016 2.3. On a recent trip taking the daughter back to college I averaged 29 MPG.

What's your driving style like when getting onto the highway? Along with how you typically drive while mixed in with traffic?

Getting 18 MPG in surburban Chicago commuting.

Driving on flat Illinois interstates around 70 MPH with the cruise on with very little traffic got me 29. Got about 27 MPG driving on 2 lane country roads with ocasional traffic lights over the holiday. The 2.3 has so much torque you dont need to apply much throttle. Bottom line I dont drive agressive if that is what your driving at.

I don't mind Jalopnik. Them being wrong is one thing, but the general style of the site and their writing I think is good. It's entertaining and probably engages young people more, and right now they area bit excluded from car culture.

Realize they are some of the biggest idiots in the industry. They probably do cater to the uneducated youth.
