Start/Stop button location

With regards to the location of the Start/Stop button - on my car it is at the top and then the PRNDS are below it but I've noticed in some pictures that the Start/Stop button is at the bottom of the PRNDS......is that because it is at the top on Canadian cars but the bottom on US cars? Why the difference?

Garage
Around September or October 2014, the factory swapped to the upper switch layout. Some people were turning their cars off when they brushed the low start/stop on the way to the radio or something.
