Trans shift issues

2018 MKC, 2.0, 2-wd. with 5k miles. Trans will up shift slow (changing to next gear) like it is slipping sometimes. 3 times it has stayed in 5th. gear (in D, not S mode) to 65 mph when I used the paddle shiftier to make it up shift. It usually shifts into 6th. gear around 46-48 mph, I was on level road and accelerating normal, not fast. Some times when starting from stop it seems to surge while having a steady throttle in 4th or 5th. gears. in a slight up hill grade. I wonder if the throttle position sensor (TPS) has a problem or if the ECM/PCM needs to be re-flashed. Anyone have a suggestion. Also, after pressing a gear selection button, it will take 2 seconds to go in gear. Using S mode to start off then pressing D mode does help throttle response from a stop.

Just to let you know you are not being ignored here.

Obviously your issue is not widespread and you are fortunate enough to be in the warranty period.
Certainly the dealer route is optimal for your situation

Now I will say that the 'learning' algorithms built in the MKC seem very real but I cannot prove it. I may be nuts but it seems that when my transmission feels like it is confused and hunting the proper gear (mixing city stop/go with country drives feels like it has caused this 2 or 3 times), I find a stretch of road where I can make 3 or so brisk runs (not drag races) from a dead stop.

Seems to clear out the cobwebs and sharpen up shifts again.

Paddle shifting for 'fun' gently around town, as if you had a real manual trans, also seems to baffle the trans brain. Not so if I am running smartly through the mountains and getting on it a bit.

Interested to see if others chime in here.
