What tires did you replace with?

My factory 18s will be replaced this year. Can stock with Michelins at 39,xxx they are cupping and out of round. The road noise was such that I took it to the dealer thinking a wheel bearing was bad. While Id like to get something that will last more than 40K miles, the more important factor for me is smoothness and quietness. I have the stock 18 inch on a 2016 AWD.

What have you replaced your with?
Why do you like or hate them?

Thanks

I just got new tires last month, Michelin Primacy MXM4(18's). I had 24,000 on the original Latitude Tour tires that would not make in through another winter, were at 3-4 on all tires.
The new tires are almost as good as the Latitude Tour tires, slightly more noisy(if you are picky like me--you'll notice), equal in ride. Overall I am pleased, was able to negotiate a 60% discount with Michelin, got them for $355 + was able to secure a $70 rebate! I only hope they last..time will tell.

Replaced Continentals with Michelin Premier LTX based on Tire Rack's ratings of 8.9 for ride comfort and 8.8 for noise. I don't see any difference from the Continentals.

I got rid of the stock Michelins with 39,xxx miles they road horrible. I have only had this car 4 months so I’m learning a lot. The ride and noise got worse after I has an oil change at the dealer. I asked them to check the wheel bearing since it was so loud they told me the tires were worn out and cupping. I replaced them on Wednesday with Continental Control Contact Sport A/S. The installed showed me that I have a bent rim. That would explain a lot of the noise and vibration. It’s a shame that the dealer did not see it. During the oil change they rotated the tires and the bad rim went from back to front. 1500 miles like that was enough to have me pull the trigger on new tires. I’ll be traveling most of next week so when I return I have an appt at “The Wheel Doctor” to have it straighten. But these tires seem smooth and quite so far. But they always do when they are new.

We've got 68,000 on a set of Continetal Contiprocontact tires. Worn very well but didn't handle wet pavement AT All, even when they were new. But we got by. Now we're looking at a set of Yokohama Avid Ascends. Any comments, good or bad, about them? Research online seems to be good but I would like to hear someone with an MKC that's had them. Thanks.
