Hello. I'm new here and I don't own the vehicle. My room mate just bought a 2015 Lincoln MKC yesterday. It's a used one with under 30,000 miles. She fell in love with it, so we picked it up yesterday and brought it home. No issues at all. But this morning, she couldn't get it to move. She started it, and pressed "R" on the Dash. The backup camera came on, but when she pressed the gas pedal down, the car would not move. She said the display was flashing "Reverse Park Assist". I backed it out last night just fine when we went to the store. But this morning, she couldn't get it to move. She had to take the car she is selling to work instead. I'm sure it's something we're not doing right. We just got it and haven't even looked at the manual yet. Would anyone know what might be going on?
Thank you.

There is an electric motor just forward of the passenger side under the hood that actually moves the shift cable based on what shift button you push. Check that out and see if the cable is moving.

Try to hold on the brake, and cycle from R to D to P to S and again. Listen to hear if shift linkages are moving.
If not, look at fuses 12,24,32,45- these are powertrain and/or transmission circuits.
A fuse replacement might get you going.
