I see an MKC Reserve in my area for about 28,000 with 22K miles. It has all the options I want except the THX upgraded stereo. Anybody think the better stereo or the Snyc 3 that is available now worth me waiting and paying extra? Thanks

To be honest that is your decision, but I have a 2015 Reserve- no THX or Sync 3 and I am not feeling left out or feel like I am missing anything, but that is just me. I have driven an MKC with the Sync 3 and THX and while it is nicer, it did not make my system seem any less. Now, apparently with the 2018 model there will be some design changes, do you buy now and if the updated design appeals to you; do you now jump to the 2018?

I would also check Bluebook on the car you mention, with a base Reserve and no added options noted~ I believe it might be priced a little higher than expected...

I have a 2015 MKC reserve with all the upgrades that I would be pleased to sell you for$28000.
I recently visited my local dealer looking for a 2017 and was offered $15000 for my trade.
Needless to say no deal for that offer.
I am waiting until the 2018's arrive then I will go shopping again.

The amount they offered you in my opinion was an insult, unless you have excessive, and I mean excessive wear/tear, and a lot of miles.

Have about 40,000 miles on a always garaged MKC.
Owned by a senior citizen who does not speed or do wheeles.
I will try later in the year when the 2018 MKC's are at the dealers in a larger city where there is more competition.

I went back into local dealer yesterday and compared the THX stereo to standard and even the 2.3 vs the 2.0 engine. I really didn't notice much of a difference on either. The options I like that come with the Reserve are cooled seats and blind spot monitoring. Love the way the thing drives. I'm guessing for a set of golf clubs to fit one of the seats would have to be folded down. I forgot to check that while I was there. Any of you play the crazy sport and know? Thanks!

Jim:

My MKC is supposed to be built this week, with THX. I had a loaner with THX for a day and found the system to be unexciting in Stereo mode. Then I found out how to change it to Surround mode - there was a world of difference. Did you try the Surround mode?

You will need to drop a seat for the golf clubs...no doubt about it..
