Hey all,

I have a 2015 MKC (2.0L) at 50,000 miles that has recently been diagnosed with a transmission problem (possibly need to replace). DTC P0751 - Shift Solenoid A Performance or Stuck Off.
The real kicker here is that my powertrain warranty has expired. Literally 1 month ago.

The dealer told me to call Lincoln and ask if they could throw us a bone and extend the warranty for us (or split the cost - anything to help). This of course was a big 'no' on their end. Lincoln then told me to call the dealer to see if they could throw us a bone. So, neither one of them really seem willing to help.

Is there anything that I can do? I know it's out of warranty - but come on man - 1 month?! There has to be something they can do! $5,500 is too much to pay for a car that's just over 50k miles.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Desperately,
-Marco
2017 MKC, 22,000 miles, dealership overlooked the 6 yr warranty, the five yr was expired by THREE DAYS and was informed I had to pay the entire bill for the transmission repair! They finally accepted the 6 yr warranty, Detroit seems to have no influence, been in shop for 60 days and no sight of completion. They did provide a complimentary rental so that is helpful!

I have a 2016 Lincoln MKC 2.3 AWD. Only has 54,000 miles in 7 years. I maintain it religiously. Had the check engine light come on a couple months ago. When I took it for the oil change they told me that they would address the light when I brought it for rear brakes. I have been noticing when I first take it out when it shifts from maybe gear 1 or 2 to 3 the whole car lurches forward, kinda like a tug feeling. It only does this 1x and then it doesn't seem as noticeable while driving. I have also noticed when I put it into park or reverse it also sometimes makes this clunk feeling. Dealership ran diagnostics and said I have a DTC P144C which is some vapor management valve. They are quoting over $700 for this alone. Then for the transmission issue they are saying they need to completely take it apart, it's 24 hours of labor plus whatever the parts are and that's $5500! Not to mention the rear brakes I need which I'm totally fine with and they said I need all new lug nuts. I'm sick over this. I don't understand how a car that's 7 years old with such low mileage has this type of significant issue and they don't even know yet what parts would be required. I'm thinking of trading this immediately for a mazda or a kia. I loved my lincoln but to me this a significant red flag that I can't get past.

Don't feel bad! My 2017 MKC has 22,000 miles on it. Diamond FORD here in Lancaster CALIF has it in the shop for a Transmission since June 17. They tore it apart, has the vehicle on a lift and claim there is no transmission available. Detroit Lincoln has no answers. My loaner is going to expire and I'm b being forced into a buyback.I have not pursued an Attorney and am caught in the middle of this bullshit. My vehicle is mint and I think they want this as a re-sale.

LeRoger, Find a lemon law lawyer in your state. they will tell you what options you might have. I know this is not a lemon law case, it's just they are more versed in section of the law verses a typical tort lawyer.

The Lincoln warranty really screwed me on this.Ford dealership REFUSED to replace the tranny with with a re-man that WAS AVAILABLE! So they forced a buy-back six months later, Thats why I would never go back to Ford,
