The first images and some detail of the all new 2016 Lincoln MKX were somehow leaked and have hit the web. Below are links to a couple of websites covering this:

>> fordinsidenews.com/forums: 2016 Lincoln MKX - First Images!!

>> autoblog.com: 2016 Lincoln MKX images and details hit the web

Personally I really like the looks of this new Lincoln. In my opinion (and that of some others) a few of the body lines on the new MKX resemble that of the Porsche Macan, which is not a bad thing. :)
We'll be learning a lot more about the 2016 MKX over the next few days, when Lincoln formerly reveal the new vehicle at the 2015 NAIAS (Detroit Auto Show).

you know something about the new MKX seems vaguely familiar.... ;)

It doesn't wear the styling as well as the svelte MKC (IMO)
Hmmm... that's debatable (IMO), but then of course beauty and styling preference is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

humpty dumpty - do you have an MKC at this time? If no, do you have any plans to obtain one?

I can see some similarities between the MKX and the Porsche Macan especially at the back third of the vehicle. If you added in the lightbar detail then the two would look very, very similar.

Overall I think that Lincoln did a good job with this vehicle though it isn't as nice as either the MKC or the MKZ in my opinion.

I've always felt the smaller vehicles tend to wear the brand look the best, regardless of what brand that happens to be. Nothing wrong with the MKX, but I agree with Humpty that the MKC looks better. Compared to the current MKX this is still quite an aesthetic step up. I'm liking those interior shots too....it seems I like the current Infotainment more than the average reviewer.

From a couple angles I can maybe see a little Macan in the back end, but the front ends are very different.

^ In my opinion the current MKX is one of the ugliest SUVs on the road, with an absolutely terrible (ostentatious) front end treatment. Saying the 2016 MKX is "still quite an aesthetic step-up" is something of an under-statement! The 2016 MKX may well end up being the best looking luxury midsize SUV available for the 2016 model-year. On that note we'll see what the all-new RX and SRX look like when they're finally revealed.

The MKC will always be the "cute little one", that started Lincoln's new model/restyled SUV's designs.

My first thoughts are that I really like these early photos of the MKX enough to stop by the dealer and fully check out one this summer. We were caught between purchasing the MKC or waiting a year for the MKX. So my wife wanted/bought the C with the plan that I could have a X once I had enough of my J. That depends on the total styling of the Jeep G/C whenever new vehicle purchase time hits my clock. If both of our current daily vehicles remain painless, it will be a very good debate.

For my eyes, Lincoln is off to very good start of revitalizing their brand image. Keep it in mind, both these SUV's should already have styling updates planned that would make them look even better, to continue with strong sales, before their next major restyling time comes around.

I think one of the most stylish feature on the MKC is the wrap around tailgate. I am surprised the design engineers didn't incorporate this in the MKX? The tail lights are split. Just my opinion...

^ I agree - the wrap around tailgate on the MKC is a very stylish, attractive feature. An inherent negative however of that particular design is that it impinges on cargo volume, and is the main reason for cargo room in the MKC being somewhat less than that of the Ford Escape.

I see this morning that the Lincoln Motor Company Media Center website has released details of the 2016 MKX ahead of the official reveal at the NAIAS. Here's the link to the specific webpage: https://media.lincoln.com/content/l...new-lincoln-mkx-delivers-personal-luxury.html
Along with Lincoln's press release today there are additional photos, and I have posted some of them below.

I am with you, waiting for the 2016 MKC to come out this summer. Hopefully NEW sync 3 will be in and a lot of these problems you guys been posting on this website will be fixed in 2016 model year. Cannot wait to see 2016 wheels choices too.
Quite excited and hopeful for SYNC 3, QNX based systems are the best in the league. For perspective Apples CarPlay was built on QNX architecture...

I wish the MKC and MKX didn't have the plastic black wheel well rocker modeling. It would look better without them and just be the color of the car.

I'm good with the black plastic wheel and rocker moldings. It may save a few minor door and shopping cart dings. And for sure a lot of rocker panel and quarter panel stone chips for us. The older roads in Michigan are in very poor condition in a lot areas, especially during the winter and spring, road stone ****. I stay back when possible to try and save the front and windshield somewhat. I also really like the contrast with Silver.
