2019 MKC Coolant Leak Inside Engine

I have a 2019 Lincoln MKC which is in the possession of a Lincoln/ Ford dealership currently after being informed by my local auto shop that I have an internal coolant leak which is listed on Lincoln’s technical service bulletin. I have spoken to Lincoln’s corporate concierge however, they are not willing to issue a recall due to the monetary expense to replace all of the defective engines. This is a Class Action waiting to happen.

2.0 engine?
No recall but a TSB should cover a new long block. Search this site for others with the same problem. Lots of info here.

Thank you! I have done lots of research & part of why I joined this platform. I was curious to truly see how many ppl experienced the same issue. However, even w/ presenting the TSB details Lincoln still will not foot the full expense.

Just as an FYI For anyone wanting to know, it is TSB 19-2208.
Mileage?
A lot, 70000 (Highway Travel Miles)
Unfortunately a TSB will not assign financial burden to Lincoln, it just guides a technician to a common cause of the problem. Recalls will force Lincoln to reimburse but not a TSB
Mine was around 60K + when I had the new long block. Was covered under warranty according to my Ford dealer where I bought it used. They said there was a TSB, but no recall. Was a 2017 I bought in 2021 with 52K on it. Took about a month for repairs. I have an earlier post regarding this issue. And Copbait is right about the financial burden, has to be a warranty issue not TSB.

I have lincoln mkc 2017 with the same problem. Coolant leak leading to total engine failure. The car is still under warranty but they refused to cover due to lack of service during COVID lock down. Very annoying

i have a 2017 MKC with the 2.0 engine and had my engine replaced @ a little over 50k miles. I bought it as certified used took it to the dealer after replacing all the plugs & coil pack on cylinder #2 would not clear the misfire code. They had the car for 8 days and could not duplicate the problem gave me the car back drove about 10 miles and the check engine light came back on and the overflow tank level dropped below the minimum level. They had the car for another 4 days and called me to say they would replace the engine with the newer design model to fix the problem. They had the car for another week and returned it with the new long block & accessories installed i was charged zero $ and they gave me a loaner car( Corsair) to use for free. My suggestion is to explain the problem in detail to the service advisor and tell them you have researched the problem exstensively and what you believe is happening. They stayed in constant contact with me and my being able to ask questions and give them feedback i think helped my case. Good luck with your case i have put about 2000 miles since the swap and have had no further problems. Oh i forgot they did a complimentary oil& filter change at 1500 miles and will do another at 2500 more miles just to make sure new engine has no problems. Totally happy with Lincoln dealer and their service even though i didnt buy it from them as the dealer i bought from closed in May after 57 years as a Lincoln /Mercury dealer.

I have the same car as yours. Same issue. Luckily the warranty covers all powertrain replacement. The technician said it is rare that 2019 MKC has this issue. I told them this is a well-known issue among all the Lincolns owners.

Hi,
Is there any reason to believe the 2019 is in any better position on this condition than previous years? Tech just blowing smoke? I have a 2019.
Thanks -

I know somewhere around 2019 is when they fixed the block, I am pretty sure most if not all 2020's don't have to worry

My best research indicated revised 2.0 block went into production April 18, 2019. Builds before this date, (I am one of them) well, fingers crossed for good luck!

Can anyone post the Service Bulletin for us to access?
I have had my Ford Lincoln Dealer deny known and published issues previsouly(2004 Ford Thunderbird COPS issue) until I printed out, produced and handed them their own service bulletin.
Priceless when the Service manager looked at my printout, muttered under his breadth and then my car was repaired at their cost.

Ford TSB 19-2346 should be what you are looking for.

Just started on this journey - wth? Car was serviced 3k miles ago then all of a sudden there are tumbleweeds in the coolant reservoir? 2017 Lincoln MKC - what am I looking at cost wise? Any help and info greatly appreciated. Local Lincoln dealers here suck
Hopefully it's not, but an empty coolant reservoir is not a good sign. If it's found to have a leaking head gasket, the most common need is an engine replacement
