After a stop at the store while driving today, I noticed the outside temp read -40 and my climate control would blow only heat no matter if I had the A/C on or not. It was actually about 83 degrees out. I shut the car off to try and reset it but no change. I ended up turning it off completely and finishing my errands. The temp finally registered correctly and then I could get some A/C if I turned it to the coldest setting. Eventually it started working as it should, but obviously something was/is wrong. Anyone else experience this?

Had the exact same scenario happen to me last week. As it was, I was planning on stopping at the dealer the next day to order the modem replacement and schedule my 30K mile service - so I brought this up to the service advisor. He put it on the WO to be looked at when the service appointment happens (waiting to schedule that when the modem comes in). He was hoping this instance recorded an error code in the system so they could check that out first. We'll see. I'll keep you posted; you do the same!

Have to make the appointment for my modem as well. Will add this to this of things for them to check and will report back.
I have not had this problem, but whenever something unusual happens, take pictures of the screen with your phone. Or even better, take a video of changing the settings, what happens, etc. On a prior (non-Lincoln) car, I had a problem with the nav system and the Service Manager told me what I was saying wasn't possible and they could not come close to replicating it. Next time it happened, I videoed it. They still could not fix it, but at least I had proof that I was not crazy!

I've not seen the issue with the outside temperature. But on 2 occasions I've had only the driver's side decide to output maximum heat despite the outside temperature being in the 80's and regardless of the climate control setting. In both cases it went back to normal after the car being off for a lunch break. (It wasn't fixed by a short off-on time though).

I had the opposite thing happen once this past winter. It was very cold outside with the sun shining. Suddenly as I was driving the A/C came on full blast....nothing I did would shut it off. I had to get back to work so shut the car off. When I started it a couple of hours later everything was back to normal and I haven't had a problem since.

I had a similar thing happen a couple times with the Auto Climate Control on my 2011 MKZ (set to A/C, but I would turn car on and have the heater start blasting) . It only happened a couple times over the three years I had the car and would resolve itself when I shut the car off and would restart it. I chalk it up to another small temporary electronic glitch bound to happen in all these cars today with so many computerized, relay/sensor/module-driven systems.

Dealing with another like issue on my MKC that, ironically, my 2011 MKZ also had: the front of the driver's seat cushion tilt sometimes works as part of my memory setting (it's the last part of the sequence of seat/steering wheel/mirror positions that moves when I press the button) and sometimes it doesn't. And of course, when I take it in to show the SA, it works flawlessly! Fortunately, my dealership has known me through three cars now and knows that I am not alarmist, unreasonable or overexaggerate when I claim that something is happening. They believe me...they just can't replicate the darned gremlin, LOL!

So, had my modem replaced today and they checked and ran diagnostics on climate system and found nothing. I'm not surprised since it threw no error codes and thought it was -40 outside. At any rate, it is documented. Also, no issued with the modem swap. I was home when my phone popped up saying my device was authmticated with my car. Guess that was after they swapped it out. Took everything I had in me not to send the command to start the car.

Bradford - thanks much for the update. Haven't received a call yet from my dealer to bring it in. Once they look at it, I'll report back. I suspect I'll get the same response.
