...first thing I would do is take the Vin number and Google search it, usually if it went to auction you’ll find the pictures of the vehicle and then you can actually see what you’re dealing with...
use this website to see the photos of damage if it went through an auction. You need the VIN number. It will also tell you how much they paid for it. (not including the fees the buyer pays)

If you are not sure... bring the car to a shop (perhaps a repair shop) for an inspection and bring him/ show him the photos so he knows where to focus. Plus I would do a OBDII read to see what it says. plus see when the codes where last cleaned.. if at all. One other thing -- which engine?? if 2.0 look into where it was assembled. There is a great post, on this site, about 2.0 flaw from some foreign countries and the VIN will help identify where it was made. They are known to be major financial issues for their owners. Not sure if it was resolved for 2019 line.
Price wise: yes a reasonable price based on what he paid (plus fees) plus cost to repair.
