I’ve got a 2015 without CarPlay and the wife wants apple CarPlay on it. Are there any aftermarket radios that will work for this car? I’ve seen the Tesla style ones with large screens but haven’t seen any reviews on it. And also removing the entire head unit and hardware, then installing sync 3 hardware to make the conversion work. Has anyone done one of these here?

If it were me I would upgrade to sync 3, that will have you a factory look with Apple CarPlay. Pretty easy to do, can be a little expensive, but if you've got good salvage yard connections sometimes you can find a good deal there. Any MKC 16 and newer will have the correct radio for Apple CarPlay

If you have a hard time finding one or don't mind one with the Russian hacked sync 3 to 3.4 version, I'll have one available in about a month

The MKC is a major PIA. The basics are it is held in with 4 screws, two are under the middle speaker grille which pops off, the bottom two make you remove the trim just forward of the console tray, then above that you have to remove the trim that holds the ambient lighting, then you can access the two bolts from the back that hold the FCIM. After that it is self explanatory

Agreed. It's definitely a pain to get out. I've figured that part out but no I'm having trouble removing the center console area to replace the USB hub. Any suggestions?
