My wife has an iPhone S7+ and I use and Android Samsung Galaxy S7. So we both need to connect especially for using Google Maps. We are looking to buy 2019 MKC soon. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Are there additional options that have to be bought to make these work? Can you simply switch between the two phones or do you have to go through menus when you switch? Thanks.

Best advice is download each app (apple Car Play for her and android auto for you) bring your usb cable for each phone and do a test drive and plug each one in (not at the same time) and try it out. you need the cable to work.
I don't think it will work with both plugged in at the same time.

I often use Android Auto with my Galaxy S7 for navigation. I can figure out my route on my computer then send it to my phone. I like a 12" USB cable for the connection so it doesn't get in the way but it is hard to find a good quality one.

I took the car for a drive and tried my wife's Apple iPhone and my Samsung Android Galaxy and both worked (separately of course) like plug and play. Very please by what I saw unlike the foreign cars I tested before. So we leased it, coming tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

There are two ways of connecting. Bluetooth and/or with a cable. If you want Google Map navigation, you must have the cable connected. COntacts, phone calls and stuff like that can be done through bluetooth. The cable doesn;t have to be connected. Each time I get in the car the car connects to my cellphone and Android Auto. However, if my wife is in the car with me (she has an iPhone), sometimes the car will select her phone as primary. So I have to switch my phone on the MKC screen as the phone when I'm driving.

Sometimes, it takes a few minutes to connect. Check your phone to see if the Android Auto app is connected to the car. Also, I find that once connected, I may have to select Android Auto on the MKC screen for navigation as the car has it's own navigation icon you can select. There are in effect 2 navigations icons - one from the car and one from Android(Google Maps).

However, I never have to log in privacy or terms of use again. I don;t know what you mean by connect 911. If the dealer is not helpful, call the Lincoln COncierge and/or another dealer. I;d ask for the service manager and complain a lot.

It sounds to me like a phone or phone company issue. Do you have the latest version of Android Auto?

Yes latest version of AA, new phone too, also happened to my old phone. Also dealer did a hard reset and no help.
This is a CPO 2019 MKC and when the dealer did a hard reset the other person's phone icon still displays on the MKC unit

Have you gone through the Android Auto settings on your phone? I have mine set to auto-launch on the phone when it connects to the Lincoln MKC bluetooth. I plug in the USB after the MKC and Android Auto have started. I recall having some issues if Phone Visibility was turned off on my phone.

KMA:

From the Synch 3 section of the Owners' Manual: "The system has a System Reset feature that can be performed if the function of a SYNC 3 feature is lost. This reset is intended to restore functionality and will not erase any information previously stored in the system (such as paired devices, phonebook, call history, text messages, or user settings). To perform a System Reset, press and hold the Seek Up (>>|) button while pressing and holding the Radio Power button. After approximately 5 seconds the screen will go black. Allow 1-2 minutes for the system reset to complete. You may then resume using the SYNC 3 system.

It would appear that the other owner's phone is still set as the preferred device. You need to select it then delete it. After deleting it you would set your phone to be the preferred device. I haven't had to do this but it would be worth trying.

Thanks for the info.
The car is at the dealers and they in turned have notified Ford of this issue to be resolved.
So far in the 30 days I have owned this car: 1) they had to replace the headliner do to a tear. 2) fixed a rattle in the passenger side, and lastly 3)try and figure out the sync / AA issue.
Should have kept my Mazdaspeed 3
