Hi, I have an MKC and would appreciate help with erasing / deleting text messages. When I started up the MKC, I was advised that I have 39 text messages which can't possible be since I cleaned up the text messages on my phone this morning and kept only 1 text for future reference. In any event, I used the interactive system to request "Messages" and the only options were to Read the 1st message or request that a specific message (message 5 or 9 or 38,.......) be read.
I thought that this was useless since it did not advise me when the message was received and/or who it was from but the reason that I am posting this note is that it did not offer an option to delete a specific message or delete all messages.
Any help that you can provide me would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

I would need to go back into my car to give you the exact steps, but yes - you can delete the messages because I have done it. If I recall correctly, you bring up each message first, play it or have it on the screen, and then there should be a "Do you want to erase this message" message on the screen. It also says that erasing it from the car will not erase it off your phone. If you can't find it, I'll go into the car and write down the steps or, my guess is another Forum member will come up with the answer sooner. Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing the info. I will try that. I am also finding is that email messages pop up in this text area. It doesn't happen all the time, but they pop up and there is a full list of messages that I can't hear or view, since it come up with code and not real words.

P.S. I could sit in the car all day...sigh

Thank DK, being that I had 39 messages, it would be a pain in the &^% to open, listen and delete each message (one at a time) but if that is the case, I will contact Lincoln and advise them that they need to come up with a software fix (update) so that you can either listen to the next message without starting the MyLincoln "Messages Process" from scratch.
Thank you for your help DK,
Bob

Yikes, I'm a little freaked out my messages are in there for someone else to potentially read (ie service appointments) I didn't even know they were saved in SYNC. Good to know as I will be sure to delete them. I just recently enabled this so I only have a few messages in there now but I guess the best practice for now is to stay on top of deleting so you don't get to 500 messages to delete :)

Playing around I just discovered the respond feature (which gives you some stock responses to hit) You can edit them too but by touchscreen which isn't good if you are driving, same as the phone..

Anyone know how to use the voice command to respond to a text message (not SIRI or the phone, thru SYNC) and not use the stock ones they provide but my own message?

MM if your concern is that someone can access your text messages, that can only happen if your phone is linked to the MyLincoln center and your phone is physically in close proximity to the car so unless you give the car FOB (key) AND your phone to someone, MyLincoln will not be linked and therefore will not advise that it has unread messages. That will only happen if start the car and your phone is with you.
