Depreciation

Anyone know how much the depreciation would be to trade in my MKC at a Lincoln dealer for a model with more options? It has about 5000 miles on it.

Just curious. Which options did you not get that you now think that you want?

We got the Select package and almost bought one with no other options/packages. There was another one on the lot that was the right interior/exterior colors with a power liftgate and the climate package. The wife doesn't care about the climate package, but loves the power liftgate and says she is so glad that we have it.
Just today I looked at a 2015 MKC that the dealer said was a "program" car and was selling it, (2300 miles on it), asking $39,995. Window sticker was slightly over $50k. That's about 20% depreciation for less than a year!

You should just wait couple more months until the 2016 MKC with all new Sync 3 in them. Then get more option also.
Here is a video of new Sync 3

You decide if worth waiting for or get a great deal on leftover 2015 MKC with old My touch

I regret not getting the power liftgate; the power adjustable steering wheel connected to the memory settings since the manual adjust lever is hard to move (but it was not available in the Select, and I didn't want to go with the Reserve because I hate roof windows; and I think I need the Lincoln drive control with CCD for the comfort ride. I can't believe the kick open liftgate is not standard on a luxury vehicle! I actually did not realize my MKC does not have the kick liftgate until after I purchased.

But if you upgrade to an MKC with the Reserve package (to get the power adjustable steering wheel), won't you end up with a panoramic roof? If you really don't like them, read the thread on here about people having had problems with them cracking.

Like you, the wife did not want a panoramic roof. The only thing she really wanted on the Reserve package was the ventilated seats. If they had been an option with the Select package, I'm sure she would have paid extra for them.
My guess you will get about 65-70% of what new sticker price is for your current car. Honestly if you wait 6 months and get the new one you will probably get about the same on trade.

Problem you have right now is they are about to be struggling to clear out the 2015's for 2016's and while you would be removing a 2015 they are stuck with another that is used. They are already going to be marking down 15% or so to get rid of the 2015's and even dip into the 20-25% reduction as I imagine with 15% they still won't move. So naturally they have to give you even less for yours used then their new ones will be.

Personal suggestion is drive it and learn from it. The things you are missing are pretty minor things, **** 5 years ago they weren't really even options.

I agree that it is ridiculous for all MKC's not have a power lift gate. Our base 2013 MKX had it. Lincoln should at least allow it to be a dealer installed option. Why not?
All 2017 MKCs will have standard power lift gate. Lincoln must have listened to their customers. 2017s are arriving at dealers now.
It's just not worth trading in something to get a few more features. Be happy that you're driving a beautiful and luxurious Lincoln. Personally I can live without the power lift gate, but my 2016 came standard with it in the select package. I find that when people, other then myself are closing the lift gate, they try to shove it down rather then press the button and I'm worried about it breaking! Plus it's always a pain, I set it so that it won't hit my garage door, but now I bang my head on it when trying to get into the back to access cargo.

Unintended (well, hopefully unintended) side effect of the wraparound "look" like the Audi Q5. With the height set to not hit the garage door, walking around the back with the liftgate open has led to both myself and my wife cracking our heads on it more than once. Elegant design isn't always practical design.
No Power Lift Gate

Even newer KIA's have a power lift gate. Lincoln may have listened by adding it to current models but it is ridiculous that the lift gate wasn't included on the 2015 Select model. Everyone that rides in it can't believe it isn't included. Our 2008 Buick Enclave had it as standard equipment!
