Sounds like an insurance policy for damage to the wheels and tires. Of course, "damage" would be defined in the small print on the contract as well as other important terms & conditions. Read every word and assess the pros & cons.

I personally pass on these type of coverage plans. However, my neighbor did get a similar plan on his Ram truck lease and has used it twice. It was a royal hassle getting someone to pay out the first time but the process worked much smoother the second time around.

$600? You'd need to replace at least two tires or maybe one tire and one wheel to be ahead. I assume that coverage is for a specific period of time...

Yeah i had it for my fusion which was a total loss July 19,2016. Back when i got it in March of 2014 the dealership somehow got me wheel/tire care for $200!

In the 2,5 years that i drove the car i think Ford replaced my tires 2 or 3 times. No issues at all, no hassle getting it approved or anything like that. I serviced that car at the same Lincoln dealer i lease my new MkC from.

For $200-$300 i would take that wheels and tire care and it works great and they pay 100% for everything (balancing, taxes, cost of a tire, mounting etc etc.)

but for $650 i think i'm going to pass, since i just searched online for the price of the tires and i will have to replace 4 tires in order to be even and 5 in order to come out ahead.

They cover wheels too, not cosmetic damage but structural as far as i know.

Most car insurance policies cover wheel and tire damage if you have full coverage. Just pay the deductible.

A refurbished OEM rim will run you at least $200 to $500, depending on size, plus the cost of a tire or 2 or more depending on how worn the damaged tire is to.

Rim repair starts at about $95 and goes up from there if you want that option.

One pot hole can get expensive fast.

Personally having some type of insurance on wheels and tires is worth it where I live with lots of potholes. In the last 10 years of living here I have lost 6 rims and 6+ tires to pots holes on an SUV and Car so I have lots of first hand experience.

Anyway do what's right for you.

Good luck!

I just destroyed a 20in Pirelli. $272 bucks. Don't like big dubs anyway and they came curb rashed.. Conti DW's on clearance for ~87 each at Tirerack. I could buy new 18 wheels and tires for less than cost of refinishing and replacing one tire. Stock wheels usually heavy anyway and notoriously finish is nominal. If you think buying tires at a dealer is way to go......if you want to improve the car, DIY.

BTW with 235/60R18's car now looks like an SUV instead of a blingy runaround. Completely changes stature and stance of vehicle. Ride is lightyears better than the 20's and good luck trying to outhandle me.

Seems a little high. I was offered it on a 2013 MKZ in and 2015 MKC - for $300. I did not get it. I never would have used it.

I was not offered it when I purchased a 2017 MKZ at a different Lincoln dealer.

I did get the paintless dent package - which has saved me a bundle with careless people who fling open their doors in parking lots!

...I paid $600...it includes winshield repairs (not replacement, that is cover by my insurance),wheels and tires and "paintless" repairs of dings etc....with price of wheels and tires one incident will put me in the black....as long as I owned the MKC..2017

I agree with jprski. If you live in an area where the roads are crappy and there are pot holes you should definitely get it. It's piece of mind and it saves you the expense of having to shell out a ton of money at one time. I am in the automotive business and I purchase these products because you are either going to pay now or pay later. I would rather pay a little bit now then pay a lot later. Consider it like health insurance. If you don't use it then that is great news. If you do use it then guess what... you are not being handed an expensive bill at a moment when you're already irritated and stressed out about the situation. It's cheap peace of mind.
What you also have to consider is that if you trade in the car 3 years from now your going to get a prorated refund when you cancel the warranty. The worst and dumbest situations I see in the business is when I see people pay $20k-$40k+ and they are too cheap to protect their investment by paying an extra 5%-10% more. Then later on they come back to the dealer because something happened and they are out of pocket thousands of dollars on just one item or better yet they cannot afford to fix the issue and the car sits a while. All cars break at some point or have and unfortunate issue. Its a matter of whether you want to pay a little extra now or a lot later.

I respectfully disagree. I have declined every type of upsell insurance product on every car I have owned. Wheel and tire, extended warranty, maintenance plans etc. 25+ cars and counting. Conservatively, I would have been out $25-30,000 cumulatively over the years. Over that time I've replaced a couple of tires and repaired or replaced a few wheels. Maybe $1200. Maybe another $2000 in other repairs that might have been covered. These insurance products are a huge profit margin for dealers and a money maker for the companies that underwrite them. "peace of mind" is very costly, indeed.

...Joey you are a true sales rep.....THAT is the logic used by the sales people....I dont see anything wrong with this insurance and your are right!!! ...(see I can agrre with a salesman..opps...salesperson)...in NJ potholes are a daily occurence specially when coming from Winter to Spring...and then when the fix then wrong and it happens coming from Spring to Summer...
when Winter arrives the cycle begins again....isnt it funny????? ...I think is hillarious!!!!!! ....get the insurance..is cheaper!!!!

I lump these coverages together with all the extended warranties etc. Don't buy ANY of them. When something breaks you are thousands ahead to start with. Add up all, appliances, tires, wheels, extended vehicle, computers, mowers, tools.........you name it. If I took care to add up all the crap I was offerred over the years it would be 10-20K. **** for that amount, just get get 4 new dubs .....
We all seem to think someone else should pay for everything, but WE actually are paying for it, indirectly. Keep all that money in your account and let it grow rather than give it to THEM so they can watch it grow.
