I had a 2012 Cadillac SRX with the 3.6 liter V-6/6speed FWD, and in the same driving pattern, with my MKC 2.3 AWD, the MKC is getting 3 MPG better (21 vs 18), and does 0-60 in 6.5 secs, whereas the SRX was 7.2 secs.

You have the 2.3 & i have the 2.0 & i only get 1 more MPH.
Probably the mix of city vs highway, and/or the temperature...been somewhat here in North Texas vs elsewhere. My mix is around 50/50 city/highway, and my city portion is not severe stop & go. Have also been somewhat easy on the pedal, with total 1,300 miles on it.

On a recent 1300 mile round trip, primarily at speeds between 65 and 75, our 2.0 did about 27 mpg on Florida gas (which isn't "winterized") and about 26 on gas from more northern states.

Also a 2.0 here. Low has been 24.5mpg, high 27.5mpg.
Most driving is 45-60mph 2 and 4 lane. Interstate running just under 80 I still am getting almost 26.

Planning to bring the boat back after Thanksgiving (2700 lbs.) Trailer is getting fitted with surge brakes that were not needed when I towed with the old Mountaineer. I will fire up a thread about this episode. If the MKC gets better than 12mpg and does not crawl up the hills, I will be quite satisfied.

2.3 with 800 miles on it. Averaging 18.5 mpg. Hope it improves

Also 2.3, at 1300 miles, averaging 18.8mpg combined 50/50 highway/city taking it easy, and mere 16.1mpg driving with a heavy foot. Have yet to take it on a pure highway cruise, curious to see how much better I'd get.

It Better improve!

To note, it might also help to mention anything that influences how good or bad you mileage is.

e.x. # of passengers, cargo (and what exactly), towing, etc.

Typically drive with just myself in the MKC...but about 25% of time either my wife or 10 year old grandson is with me. No cargo to speak of. And our terrain is fairly flat.

I'm driving the 2.3L. Just turned 1K and am averaging 24.5mpg. Temps here have been in the teens to mid 20's since I got the car. My driving has been about 20 mi of open road then start and stop city driving.
We are heading south for the rest of the winter right after Christmas, it will be interesting to see what the mileage is on interstate @ 75-80 mph.

Have the 2.3 and driving in performance mode running 87 fuel and all around average is 24.2. This includes the 3,500 ft climb to and back from Flagstaff, AZ six times at 75/85 mph and local around town 25/45 mph. Lincoln is 5 months old with 2,545 miles on it. I enjoy this mkc much more than my C-5 which I put 100,000 miles on in ten years.

One person 80% of the time comfort mode. One month, 1,250 miles 60/40 20.8 mpg., with some short morning warm ups on 87. Not bad for a 4,000 pound AWD in the north with a moderate to heavy foot. Just for comparison, our 5,000 pound Jeep, 70/30 is at 17.4 mpg with a light to moderate foot and really no warm ups to speak of.

I'm revisiting this thread. Our MKC mileage has plummeted with the outside temperature. I am well aware of the effect of winter gas and cold temperatures, however now that it's below 20 the hwy mileage, after fully warmed up, is below 20. That's a 20%+ drop from the fall. We have 6 other cars and they have dropped 5-10% under the same conditions. This seems to be an issue across all Ford ecoboost engines. I don't understand it, as I have owned other turbocharged cars which only dropped 5-10% also.

The recalls have all been minor issues, as are things like the welcome mat. The GPS losing its location is a big one. This mileage issue is completely unacceptable. I knew the ecoboost lineup had mileage attainment issues and I was hoping Ford had worked them out. My summer driving was **** near the EPA numbers, but the winter is just so far off base that I suspect this will be my last Ford ecoboost vehicle.

Winter mileage is affected to some extent by the seasonal gas blend. I also find it harder to keep tire pressures correct.
But my 2.0 FWD has been doing well- 23 minimum in town, 26 on long trips.

There seems to be no fundamental reason that the ecoboost should be less efficient than other turbo motors.

I completely agree with midnite cruiser. I notice that at times the seasonal gas blend with varying amounts of ethanol can have a 10 -15% impact on mpg. At other times, my right foot is heavier than at other times. If I was worried about mpg I would have bought a Prius. My overall mpg is 23 on flat Florida terrain, 70% highway / 30% city , 30% of the time highway is more like crawling due to traffic. I have the 2.3 AWD with 20"wheels. For comparison, my 2012 Ford Edge 3.5 V-6 yielded 21.5 mpg over 40,000 miles with same driving conditions.

The ethanol content doesn't vary with the season or anything else, it's 10% all year. Only butane goes up in the winter. I'm talking about the effect of COLD weather, so I doubt Florida will see what I'm talking about. Not sure where midnite cruiser is, but again I'm talking about <20 degrees.

Laurel, I think you mean 11.8 liters/100 KM, which is 20 MPG...if this is on the hwy then you are seeing the same thing I am.
