Our new MKC was parked outdoors over the weekend. We returned to it 24 hrs later and were shocked to discover all four windows all the way down!! After cleaning up a covering of snow and some ice inside the vehicle (!), we guessed a button was unknowingly depressed on the remote and consulted the owner's manual for a cause. Here's what we found...
Globally opening windows remotely is not a feature we would want activated, and was not referenced in the "Remote" section of the owner's manual. We had to look up "Windows" after the problem occurred to determine if this action could be initiated by the remote. We promptly disabled it through "Settings/Vehicle/Windows/Remote" on the Information Display (table beginning around page 112 or 113). It would have been helpful if there was one place in the manual that strictly lists every function the remote can perform, and their "programmability" (is that a word?)
Hope this helps other owners avoid a similar experience.
You can open the windows only for a short time after you unlock your vehicle with the remote control. After you unlock your vehicle, press and hold the remote control unlock button to open the windows. Release the button once movement starts. Press the lock or unlock button to stop movement.
