A lot of cars with remotes have had this features for 15+years. I know all of the BMW's and MB's I've owned do. You can't disable it on those cars either. Never had an issue where the windows were unintentionally opened on any of them.
You can open the windows only for a short time after you unlock your vehicle with the remote control. After you unlock your vehicle, press and hold the remote control unlock button to open the windows. Release the button once movement starts. Press the lock or unlock button to stop movement.
The nice part is you actually *can* disable it on the MKC through the Information Display - "Settings/Vehicle/Windows/Remote."A lot of cars with remotes have had this features for 15+years. A very basic question to the engineers at Lincoln:
If say, Im in England, and my MKC is parked somewhere in Canada, why would I have the sudden need/urge to open the windows of my locked up garaged MKC from across the pond? What...to air it out?... so the kids can retrieve the $20.00 they dropped on the C's floor?...or maybe you have a soft spot for ALL auto thieves, and trying to make it a little easier, I mean god forbid they have to break a window first to get to that $20.00!!!!!!!!
Rant over, stay calm and continue on! lol
My tongue in Cheek comment was aimed at the title: GLOBALLY open windows remotely!!! LOLWhat, 5.0 Candy??...you open/close the windows with the keyfob. Pretty hard to do that from "across the pond". LOL
The phone app will lock/unlock the car from anywhere with a cellular connection (prob N. America only...not sure), but it can't open the windows.
