I picked up a new 2017 Reserve about a week ago and I am having intermittent audio issue.

Three times out of the fifty times that I got in the car and started it with start button, or previously by remote, the audio won't come on. In the control bar the music symbol stays gray and no audio. Pushing the power button for radio does nothing. The touchscreen has a screenshot that has the upper right quadrant stating "Audio off". Pushing that nothing happens.
Is this operator error or do I have an issue?

Other than that, no issues. Liking the vehicle a lot. Pros- quiet, comfortable, well appointed, easy sync3. Cons- beside audio, short wheelbase gives slightly choppy ride on crappy roads but great on new pavement.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If pushing the power button for the audio system does not turn it on then I would say that there is definitely an issue and you should contact your dealer.

My 2015 MKC audio has just started to act up today. The volume goes from normal to very low volume, and vice versa. I shut down the engine a few times, and it is still doing the same thing. Is it still covered under warranty if my car is just over 50k?

Because I have never had something like that happening in any audio system in less than 3 years of ownership in any car. Even a cheap 3rd party aftermarket audio amp will no die as cheap as that.

Thanks for the quick responses. I unpaired my Nexus 6P phone thinking that was the issue. No improvement. In fact my faulty audio has gotten worse. It started occuring less than 10% of the starts. It is now off over 25% of the starts. Definitely an issue and I will take it in this week and report any findings.
I must say when it comes on it sounds great across all car sources such as am,FM,Sirius, CD. No issues at all. I like it a lot and find it easy to use.
I don't see any other threads about this issue. Hope it is something simple.
