How the MKC Differs from the Escape

According to this video here are some of the differences between the MKC and the Escape.
- Lower centre of gravity.
- widened track
- brake components differ
- had to make changes to production facility
I think the main point to be made is that even though the MKC shares things in common with the Escape it is by no means just a nicer Escape. It is a model unto itself.

dont forget suspension and steering. The had to get a little creative so the MKC didnt suffer from horrific bump steer.
Indeed. I wouldn't relate them. They're loosely based off of eachother. The differences between the two are significant.
I think that before it was released people were afraid the MKC would just be a nicer Escape. Stories and videos like this are just explaining that that is not true, which is good because Lincoln needs to not be more expensive Ford. I would be curious to test drive the Escape and then the MKC to really be able to tell the difference between the two vehicles.
It's going to be a very small number of people that will question that, the masses won't.
For the masses, I agree. They won't notice the two being the same because they really aren't much the same. Other brands more clearly are the same vehicle between two brands. Like the Lexus ES and the Toyota Camry.

Only people who knew that the MKC was based off the Escape would have been skeptical at first and now their fears have been laid to rest.
