Interior Ambient Lighting Brightness

While I appreciate all the colors possible for the night cabin lighting, I find almost all of them are too bright for night running even with the brightness on its lowest setting.
The only tolerable color is the red (Germans still use this in cars-as in their aircraft). Red has been studied as the least interfering color to night vision, but it would be nice to use some of the others.
It is a nice benefit for the passengers to see a bit, I think less so for the drivers.
How many members are using the cabin lighting? Color and level?

I use the Dark Blue at just a notch down from the brightest possible setting.

We use the Purple, just a notch down from brightest. Very pleased with all the interior lighting and as for the Ambient Lighting, no feeling of interferrence for us.
Hey... is it just me or does anyone else dim their dash lighting and notice the car does not KEEP the setting?

I will dim it, then the next evening in the car, it is full bright again. Not talking about the ambient, that setting seems to stick, I am talking about the dash lighting set with the buttons on either side of the headlight dial.
Never experienced an instrumentation lighting change in any vehicle or the MKC to date, from the last setting.

Apparently I have a problem then. I am also losing time on the clock. I have not figured out if its losing all the time, when not running or when running. All I know is after a few days, it will be slow by 10 minutes or more. I have had to reset the clock now about 5 times... I just to the "reset to GPS" and it updates properly... but not sure why its losing time.

And yeah, my instrumentation (dash brightness) setting is not sticking. I have to redo it almost every time I drive at night after a non-night drive.

Not show stoppers by any means... but it looks like it will need some service.
