I have a Canadian MKC and was wondering if there was any way to have both the headlights on as well as the LED lights (daytime running lights)? I am used to having extra fog lights on my vehicles that can be turned on with the low beam headlights and the MKC doesn't have this feature.

My LED "fog lights" are ON all the time. With those LEDs set to ON, they will be ON all the time with the knob light dialed in AUTO. Your headlights will not be ON all the time, except your front LEDs. At least, that's how it is in my 2.3L with Reserve package.
If you want to be seen, they'd see you coming for sure in that setting.

I have a Canadian 2.3L Reserve, light switch always left in Auto setting, and the LEDs (fog lights/daytime running lights) Never turn on at night, or at least not at any time that I can verify.

There should definitely be a manual switch to activate them at night if so desired, but there is not. No idea what determines their illumination at night, but I've never seen them kick in for what it's worth!

shirtmkc, I have a 2.3 Reserve. My LEDs are on all the time with the headlight switch knob set to "Auto". During the day, it's just the LEDs and white "light pipes" around the headlight bezels; if I turn on a blinked, both light pipes temporarily turn off until the blinker is finished, but the LEDs remain lit all the time. At night, the LEDs, light pipes and headlights are all on. All of this has been seen/tested by pulling up in front of a glass-walled storefront at night so I can see the reflection. In my dash settings, I have the DRLs set to "on".

I should add that I am in California, however. Not Canada. Not sure if Canadian spec models are configured differently.

Nope, you cannot change the DRL settings on Canadian vehicles, it what it is, and I've never seen them on at night. Sucks. Every other vehicle I see with LED DRL's are on at night. Would be be nice, possibly a change for the 2016, in Canada. Who knows.
