Man, where does one begin?
Well, as far as I am concerned, other than a few small hiccups with ours, things seem pretty good:

1 Sirius cuts out from time to time, this condition seems to be getting better on it's own, fingers crossed!

2 lift gate issues....I "think" i may have pinpointed where the issue was, the grommet at the rear top left hand side was completely out of the hole....figured it may be offering resistance when closing so it would back the gate right back up.
So far those are the only issues I have experienced, however I am getting more and more concerned about the OVERALL quality we all bought into with this LINCOLN MKC
Daily, I read horrible stories and new posts from customers that are finding all kinds of issues with their MKC's...Day in day out....something else appears...case in point is the horrible problems mmorett is having with theirs.
She's not the only one either! Just go through all the pages on the forum and you'll see what I am talking about....very few are completely problem free!
I should not be feeling this anxious about an upscale new car...I should be in seventh heaven really!
What is REALLY bothering me is not so much the above, but what appears, a commitment from Lincoln to address these issues.
If these issues are (really) going on with multiple MKC's, where is the quality control I was led to believe was such an integral part of what Lincoln stood for?
How do I stop from feeling knots in my stomach when I think of my brand new 2016 MKC and the potential of stuff breaking, mostly due either to lack of testing, quality control...and a manufacturer that is snubbing customers with validated complaints!
Sorry about the rant, but I really had to get this off my chest!

We own a Select and I started a thread a couple of days ago asking what problems other Select owners have experienced as I wanted to get a heads up regarding any problems we might expect to see. Unfortunately, no one as of yet has posted on that thread. We are feeling the same anxiety regarding the reliability of the MKC and especially about Ford/Lincoln dealers' and Lincoln's lack of attention to customer concerns.

For example, there is a "worthless" TSB out on the heated seats. The problem seems to be limited to Reserve models (those that have both heated and cooled seats), so luckily we are not affected by this problem. Certainly Lincoln knows that the TSB has not not improved the situation. Lincoln should be working on a fix that really works rather than wasting peoples' time with whatever it is that they are doing.

Overall, it seems that once Ford/Lincoln has your money, they are not that concerned about whatever problems an owner might be having. But then, maybe it's that way with most all auto manufacturers.

Based on the production numbers I see in inventory looks like Ford/Lincoln has built close to 30,000 MKCs for MY 2016 so far with roughly 2 months to go. If you add up the individuals with 2016s with issues that looks to be statistically a small sub-set. Just looking at some of the posts here you would think the MKC has been a disaster.

You guys know the old saying" if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, bomb them with BS....Why is there no Lincoln rep as on the Mustang forum helping clients with issues is the REAL question.
In Allfordmustangs forum there is a rep by the name of Deysha that is insanely helpful....I know, I dealt with her!!!

I would venture to say that not all people that are having problems with their MKCs are searching out a forum like this. They probably don't know there is such a forum and wouldn't even think of looking for one especially if they are only having a minor issue. It is the ones that are having repeated issues, or may have used a forum for an issue with some other product, that search out these forums. The only way to know the true numbers of defects/problems is to get the stats from Lincoln themselves which I'm sure they are not going to provide. It is unfortunate that there is not a Lincoln representative on this site. I emailed the service manager at the dealer where I purchased my MKC, 2 weeks ago and have yet to get a response. Yesterday morning I emailed the Lincoln concierge asking for help and have yet to get a response from her either. I called late this afternoon as well and still nothing. Needless to say, I am not at all impressed with Lincoln.

Issues with the 2015 too!

I agree with you 100 percent. The dealer actually changed the story about how they never substantiated any of the problems. Every work order says differently. In shop 45 days off and on and back at a new dealer. Two weeks now, the Client Service Managers can do nothing to make this unbearable situation go away.

Their supervisor was rude and nasty even.

A horrible experience with Lincoln. Adios in 10 months and never again

I'm not sure the Sirius cutting out is necessarily an issue with the MKC. Satellite radio an cut out sometimes for a lot of reasons that don't have anything to do with the technology in your car.

I also think that people are more likely to report problems on a forum like this than report that they have had no problems at all.

The issue with the radio was not satellite. There was a recall and the antenna had to be replaced. We had hardly any reception until Lincoln figured it out.

Frustration and disappointment in a 50000 car. They now have my car a month.

Letting people know about issues so they can make a decision before getting this car. Good luck

I mentioned this before sort off......my sirius DOES cut out, but I just don't care.....when the 6 months are up I will not renew....simple! Ironically, all FM stations come in fine, so I don't see how this is related to an antenna....even a crappy 1010 talk show AM comes in just fine....sirius just looses signal momentarily then back on, then repeats .....On my Mustang GT not ONE issue with Sirius at all....which is why I still have it.....to me, it's just a PITA to having to go through this....6 months free subscription? LOL Even my wife tries to tune into it....within 30 min she's like....why does it fade in and out! lol...then we choose FM and it's golden!
I listen to my own music anyways....and that offers no issues, not buying into this crappy tech, they want my business they need to sort their ***t out!

^ agree on both points above.....I blame Sirius for this, fair & square....if I had a prob with the tech in the car OR it's antenna I would notice signal loss on other FM channels....NOT one has an issue, even a crappy 1010AM comes in OK....

The components of the antenna that Sirius uses are different from the AM/FM antenna. I think the seriousness of the Sirius issue really depended on where you lived. I did not have any cutouts driving around my town/county or even up in the mountains - and did not even know there was a problem. When I drove down to Atlanta (25 miles away), I discovered I had a cutout for about 1/4 mile on I285. Happened in the same quarter mile stretch every time I drove it - but only on west-bound, not on east-bound of the same highway. Clear open sky, no visible cell towers or other potential interference in sight. It was weird. It did happen more often on a 3000 mile driving vacation. Typically in more urban areas.

I had mine fixed in case it became a larger issue later on - and to keep maintenance up to date.

Crazy....so my Mustang GT also runs Sirius, basically the same company I've been with them since 2011, no cut outs, no issues... nothing...possibly the antenna in the MKC needs to be replaced...I'll have it done sooner or latter, if nothing else but to keep things maintained.
In the MKC Sirius cuts out....sometimes often, or days apart...never in the same location either.
I might have it done this spring, I don't want to be up here without a 4 x 4 during the winter.
It can't be the Sirius transmission tho in my case, because the cars are feet apart yet the reception in the Mustang is suburb day in day out....crazy.
The Sirius I subscribe to is based in Canada, wonder if it's different programming from the one in the States.

I have lost sleep since buying mine. On the drive home after they had filled the gas tank every time we stop, take off or back up the gas sloshes and the vehicle bumps. It lungs forward at an abrupt stop. Now issues with losing all power and the dash goes blank. I have owned it two months and it has been in the shop 6 time this week. I hate I bought this MKC and lincoln has denied us a buy back even with our states lemon law. I have made it my mission to educate as many people as I can. I have had my gas tank replaced already and it's worse. I hope you have better luck then I am.

We are very happy with our 2016 MKC so far its been flawless - Overall Lincoln must be doing something right:

I think he said he has a 2015, can't figure out. Good for the 2016 owners.

Rstubb is your a 2015 or 2016? You mention you only had it two months but post about a 2015 in another post.

Unfortunately us 2015 owners took the hit so Lincoln could do 2016 better for you guys....too bad they are leaving some of those customers to suffer with their cars.

Rstubblefield,
I may be the earliest "early adopter" of an MKC on this forum - purchased in mid-July of 2014 - so I can say I've been through all of the quirks this amazing SUV has experienced. As if that isn't enough, I've been the victim of 2 rear-end collisions, one ($15,000 damage) of which put me in the hospital. The MKC took the hits remarkably and repaired nicely. I have just under 14,000 miles driven and still look forward to driving my white MKC daily. I might add that I have been a very steadfast (tough?) owner that diplomatically challenges my dealership to service my vehicle properly. I discovered early in my ownership that my local Ford dealership seems to LOVE to show me they are every bit as good as a Lincoln dealership. I disagree. They are better! You might try a Ford dealership. They have kept me very happy (I used them to repair my rear-end collision damage too!). The car is a good one. I get 22/23mpg consistently - and it still looks current and is a hoot to drive in - especially in "sport" mode! Far more people are happy with the MKC than aren't. You deserve to be happy too! If possible, I'd highly suggest using a different dealership, preferably Ford! They definitely made a difference in my attitude! I do wish you well on your vehicle!

Can't speak for some of the other issues mentioned above ("lunging", dash going blank, etc.), bit I've heard gas sloshing in the tank occasionally with almost every vehicle I've ever owned. Never was a problem - was just a variable of how much was in there and how the car was moving at the time.
