Lincoln MKC vs Lexus NX: The Exteriors

The NX's plastic fender flares give the illusion of overly size wheel wells and/or undersize wheels. There is a little of that effect on the MKC, but not to the same degree. Personally I prefer cladding-free fenders myself - like those you'll find on the Q5. There's nothing remotely rugged about either of these vehicles, so why the cladding?

The front overhang looks exaggerated on the NX, too. Stare at the profile for a minute and you'll see what I mean. Pinocchio, we have your vehicle.

I see quite a bit of Subaru Crosstrek in the silhouette, too. I don't think it's intentional, but it's there nonetheless.

The spindle grille simply doesn't work for me. Luxury cars are suppose to be about elegance. I find nothing elegant about any version of the spindle grille. Who wants to drive a luxury car that frightens children?

I don't like how the fender wells look, comparing side profile shots of both you can see how much better the MKC looks

the NX shares a bunch of ugly with the new Cherokee, especially from the profile...

The Lexus is hideous, bad lines, strange proportions, lights that are weird to just be weird, and the cow catcher on the front is amazing in that it was approved for production.

Yup, they could have done a better job, but it seems they really want to push sporty styling and this is what has come of it.
