Ouch. Ya the parasite draws are common. I hope that fixes it
MKC Killing the battery.
So our MKC did it again. The battery is dying. It did this two years ago and we took it to Lincoln and they said that the battery is fine. It just needed a software update. Everything was good up until a couple weeks ago. Battery started dying again. I took it to the local shop and they tested the battery and said the battery is fine but something is draining the battery. Another parasitic draw. So I took it back to Lincoln on Friday. Later that afternoon, I got a call from the shop and that they said that there is a problem with the Gateway module being on when it’s not supposed to be. They have to replace that first which is $600, and then they will be able to test to see if there any other modules failing. Hopefully that is the only thing.

I am a believer in the AGM batteries. Only the auto start MKC's come with AGM but I put one in my car and never replaced it again, I no longer own it but I know the lady who does and she hasn't replaced it either as of last time I talked to her
They replaced the gateway module and there is no longer a draw from it. Now they are able to test beyond that and found another draw from the telematic control unit. It’s gonna cost $700.00 to replace that. JEEZ. I have a feeling they are gonna find a something else after that. 😩

Yes, They replaced that too. My wife was wanting that so it all worked out. They only charged me for the price of the new modem and not the install since it was connected to the telematics control unit. All is working good now.Well, maybe you'll get the new telematics unit that gives you 4G and you'll be able to use the app again!!
