From my observation, different parts of the country have their own ideas on striping. I am in NE Ohio and we don't see many stripes, but agree that a conservative stripe might look good on an MKC.

In Florida (west coast) I see a lot of stripes that were installed by the dealerships. Since most stripes are no longer hand painted (now vinyl) they could be removed fairly easily with a heat gun or possibly some other means if you change your mind or at trade-in time. If you are old school (so am I - see my Avatar), and would like striping, why not? If you do so, be sure to post some pictures.

You're right. Pinstripes are old school, but if you're a fan, I say do whatever makes you happy.

What color is your MKC and what color pinstripes are you considering?

By the way, many of us are creating a signature that shows what kind of MKC we bought - interior/exterior color, FWD vs AWD, 2.0 vs 2.3, Equipment package, other packages/add-ons, and build date. It helps when people discuss problems to know whether or not you have a similar MKC that was built around the same time. If you want to do this, click on your screen name, then on 'About Me' and add your "vitals" in the signature area.

Hope you enjoy the forum and have many miles of carefree MKC driving!

Awesome. You never know who it might help. Thanks.
I used to pinstripe all my cars but my last 3 or 4 have had such nice lines I didn't think it needed it. The MKC has a lot of nice lines and curves in them so I'm not sure where you'd put the stripes. With your color combo I would think that white stripes (to go with the interior) would look nice. I have been researching some nice chrome add-on's (they look nice - rather conservative, not loud) and have found some interesting one's made specifically for the MKC. Peter, if you are interested, let me know and I'll send you the link.

Hi
Thank You.
I was thinking the same thing. Very Nice Lines on the MKC. Where would you put them.
I'll have to look into it some and get back.
Peter
Our dealer had put pin stripes on our MKC and they look very nice. At first I was unsure if I liked them, but they were installed very well and do enhance the exterior of the cars lines.

dk4500 can i get the link also ?
My mkc was brought in from another dealer & it had a Pinstripe on it & i didn't like, which they removed.
Pinstripes look great!

We bought our MKC and at the very end of the deal got a free pinstripe job thrown in. When we got to the dealer they said "Ah, you don't want one of those cheap decal type. They will peel off and look bad in a few years. We'll paint them on for you." Boy were we happy with the extra care they gave us. We have a very thin black stripe with a very thin silver stripe just above it. They are just above the crease above the door handle. They look super good. It dresses up the car without really noticing they are there. It will make your MKC have just a little touch of "nobody else has it", as if we aren't already pretty unique driving around town.

I considered pin striping. My dealer has an outside guy that still hand paints them on a # of their cars along with tiny Lincoln symbols and they look awesome! I also went to a body shop and they put a small strip on my MKC for me to see how it would look (used a silver type) starting at the top of the front side below the hood. It looked good. I ended up going another way with chrome accessories (see my garage: http://www.mkcforum.com/forum/garage.php?do=editvehicle&v=1337 and post "Fruition! My mkc possession!" http://www.mkcforum.com/forum/lincoln-mkc-owners-check-area/22426-fruition-my-mkc-possession.html) but may revisit pin striping at some point. Plus the body shop cost was less than $75...I think I checked more than 1 and the lowest was near $60.

So yes, their are lines to pin stripe...in fact pin striping accentuates the lines and curves of the MKC so GO FOR IT! :)
