I need some guidance.
I own a 2017 Lincoln MKC with 52,000 miles on it. It runs great and has had all scheduled maintenance
The problem is I have had three crashes in the past year. All have been body damage only and were repaired to my satisfaction. You cannot tell they were in crashes.
I had another crash the other night where I backed into a tree stump. I didn’t see which damaged the front door. I priced the repair from a shop that gave me an estimate in case I don’t want to turn it into my insurance company and risk either increased rate or getting canceled. The problem is the cost. It will be $2000. If I turn it in on my insurance I have a $500 deductible. I have wondered how much a dealer would discount the value of my car on a trade-in with the door damage. I am considering trading rather than just put out $2000 to repair the vehicle. Any thoughts?

See if you can find a used door (used parts lot) which might be the same color and find a body shop that might swap the doors for $500. I hear it's a ***** to properly mount/align.
If you sell: Carvana will probably give you the highest offer.
If it's not too bad and the door is fully functional... let it be -- you never know someone might hit that side two weeks later.

I’ll take pics. Good idea. The body shop priced a used door. It needs replaced.

I used to be a collision tech in my younger years. A good tech could straighten that door right up and not replace it, worst case scenario you could throw a skin on that door and not replace the whole door. But that wasn't the question you asked. I would definitely try to trade it with the damage. I can't believe that they would discount your trade in value more than $2,000 for that
