I need some guidance.
I own a 2017 Lincoln MKC with 52,000 miles on it. It runs great and has had all scheduled maintenance
The problem is I have had three crashes in the past year. All have been body damage only and were repaired to my satisfaction. You cannot tell they were in crashes.
I had another crash the other night where I backed into a tree stump. I didn’t see which damaged the front door. I priced the repair from a shop that gave me an estimate in case I don’t want to turn it into my insurance company and risk either increased rate or getting canceled. The problem is the cost. It will be $2000. If I turn it in on my insurance I have a $500 deductible. I have wondered how much a dealer would discount the value of my car on a trade-in with the door damage. I am considering trading rather than just put out $2000 to repair the vehicle. Any thoughts?
