I just picked up a 2016 MKC reserve yesterday. Awesome vehicle and much nicer than my previous car a 2014 MB GLK 350.
It has sync 3 which is great but I have a problem with my navigation system. Basically the screen is constantly rotating around the cursor which renders the navigation useless. The cursor fails to follow the designated route or even stay on the road you are traveling since the screen keeps moving.
I stopped my local Ford dealer who said they are aware of this problem or a similar type problem under special service message #45254 were the screen moves as if it is being touched with no user input.
My concern is that the Ford service advisor said they are aware of the problem and are working on a solution which could take weeks if not months! That's ridiculous as I can't be without nav for that long.
Does it usually take that long to fix these kinds of issues? I understand its a new system with teething problems and I expect a week or two to resolve them but months?
Otherwise sync 3 is working great and we love the vehicle.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Formula1fan!!

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your nav. We have a 2015 and so far our nav has worked just fine so I can't speak to your specific problem. I can tell you that the Sirius antenna in the 2015s was "defective" (signal kept dropping - more often for some; less often for others) and they just came out with the fix 6-8 weeks ago so some people have been driving around with that problem for over a year. Other than that, I don't know of anything else that has taken a long time to engineer/implement a fix.

What colors (interior/exterior) and options did you get?

Thanks happy to be here.I read about the issues with the sat. radio. Hopefully they can address this nav issue a little quicker.
It is Ingot Silver with Ebony. It's the reserve 300A with the 2.3l engine, tech package, thx stereo, climate and the 20" wheels. I think it has pretty much everything.
It is primarily my wife's car and she loves it as well. Her only concern (besides the nav issue) is that the car has a lot more blind spots than her GLK. We also looked at the usual suspects including the X3, XC60, new Discovery and Q5. Hands down the MKC was the best and best value!

She sounds gorgeous. Ours is primarily my wife's car as well.

I agree. The MKC definitely gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

Good luck with the nav issue; I hope they resolve it soon.

Just picked up a 2016 today. No nav issues yet. Hope you get yours resolved quickly. Congrats on the purchase. It's my wife's car as well, but I really like it.

You have good reason to be upset. I'd suggest calling Lincolns Cust. Service dept 800-521-4140 and raising ****. If that doesn't work ask either Lincoln or your salesman for the phone number of the District Manager. If they say they don't know it, they're not being truthful. In the MKC brochure there's a whole bunch of marketing lingo about "The Lincoln Pledge" to attain your satisfaction. I wouldn't rely solely on your dealership to move quickly on this. Good luck!

Hopefully it won't involve too much, i know at times that can be the case. One guy that had problems with Kia made a video that went viral and it was only after then that he got a response.

That's great news and certainly better then waiting weeks or months as you had previously written. Please let us know the results.

Quick update. Car has been at the dealer since Monday. Lincoln "tech support" has been in contact with the service advisor throughout. Dealer had initially ordered a some type of chip for nav but was told by tech support to replace the antenna. That is on order and hopefully will be here Monday or Tuesday. Then it has to be painted and installed like the Sirius fix.
Dealer advised car may be ready by the end of next week if the antenna was indeed the problem!
Lincoln customer support is monitoring the situation and said they intend to offer some type of compensation when all is said and done.
I hope!

Just another update. I have had two different antennas put on and still the navigation does not work! I am starting to get fed up. I do not understand why they do not swap out the entire system and replace it with a new sync 3. Trying to fix it seems to be a waste of time at this point. I am considering speaking with an attorney regarding my rights under the NY lemon law. It has been in the shop now for 18 days and counting. So disappointed as I so loved the way this car drove and looked for the 3 days I had it.

Sorry to hear this, just terrible getting a new car and having this happen. You do have a case with Lincoln directly right? Sounds like they should put a new SYNC in and try to see if that ends your nightmare. I assume you are the only one they know of having this issue on the 2016's?

I have been in contact with Lincoln customer service and asked them a week ago why they are wasting all this time trying to fix it when they should just replace the whole sync 3 system.
AFIK they have not heard of any other 2016's having this problem.
The customer service from both the dealer and Lincoln has been terrible to this point.

Maybe the Sync 3 not the same size as old ford touch and they cannot just put a sync 3 in. There is probably a lot of work to switch a ford touch too new sync 3 or everyone would want to pay couple hundred dollars and update to sync 3 .:devil

Success! They replaced the APIM (?) in the car and everything works. So happy to have my car back. It looks as if Lincoln will refund me one of my lease payments as well
All in all they handled it well.
Although the Lincoln touch was pretty good I do prefer Sync 3. Just a bit more intuitive. Still Lincoln touch did the job.
Thanks for listening and for your support and advice.
