Went to Gym & everything was fine.
Left Gym & no Back Up Camera ,blank screen & no Radio.
Drove awhile & restarted car & Screen Said SYNC.
Next it said updating SYNC & everything was back again.
This is just after the console sliding door locked a couple days ago.
Other's here have the same problem.
When i saw the blank screen the first thing in my mind was get rid of the MKC.
Now i don't know.

That would be quite possible, might as well take it back to the dealership just to see if this is the case and/or what they can do about it.

I have identified one cause of this problem. In my case, I had prepared a USB stick with a number of directories and files. Randomly, the system crashed exactly as you describe when playing music.

It turned out that on one directory the file names contained a dot which was not immediately in front of mp3.
good example: 01 mytune.mp3
fail example: 01. mytune.mp3

The seemingly random crashes were because I was on shuffle.

I renamed all the files containing the extraneous dot, and the system no longer crashes.

Good to know, and that's a reminder to always start with the simplest of things.
I can also see how this would be an issue as the system might not be as intelligent to get around small faults like that.

Thanks for the tip. There is (was) a hidden directory on my USB drive .Trashbin or something like that. This also contained all of my deleted Christmas songs that I was puzzled how they were still playing since I deleted them months ago. Hopefully that is the end of the crashing Sync.
