When I'm parked and I turn the wheel, I hear sounds like a grinding noise. It's hard to describe the noise. Then when I put it in drive and pull out of a parking spot, and turn the wheel, the noise is there. Normally I would check the power steering fluid but there is no reservoir. I have electric steering.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what the noise could be?
My mechanic said it doesn't sound fatal, he said it sounds like the steering rubbing against the firewall.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue. I took it to Lincoln and they performed some repairs..Problem still persists. I haven't taken it back yet. See attached pic detailing what was done.

@[email protected] No, they didn't replace it. They just removed the column to replace the steering control module.

@paddiolv My mechanic said it's nothing major other than embarrassing and annoying. His thought minus it being a ball joint or tie rod end or electric steering module that it could just be rubbing against the firewall.
