Hello MKC owners! I just purchased a 2016 MKC which I am absolutely happy with, but found a weird issue when I moved my radar detector from older car and plugged into my new MKC's main power outlet - the outlet seems to be hard-wired. Anything plugged in will stay on when I shut off the engine, turn the ignition off, even when I lock the doors. I tried all four available outlets - front, two in the middle console, and one in cargo area, and they are all constantly powered. I took the car to the dealer (not a Lincoln dealer), and he stated that all four power outlets are hard-wired by the wiring diagram. This confuses me because I checked the manual and it states that the power is applied to the outlets only when the ignition is turned on. Would someone please check and let me know if this is true, or there is something wrong with the wiring in my car (or fuse configuration)? I have owned many cars in the past and never seen one with all power outlets being constantly powered... Thanks!

Tried all power outlets after 75 minutes - still on. Connected radar detector and locked the doors for 8 hours. Came to check in the morning while the doors were still locked - the radar detector was still on... I am not sure if this problem (I consider this to be a problem) is only with my MKC... BTW, any time I enter the vehicle while the doors are unlocked I can turn on the radio, play with navigation, etc. without turning the ignition on. The radio will turn off after I exit the vehicle and lock the doors. Can someone please check this with their MKC?

Its normal to be able to turn on the radio without the ignition being on. Mine works the same way... I still suspect all is normal. Either when you approached with the key fob the outlets "woke-up" or the system detects a draw and will maintain that outlet... The owners manual does state to not leave things plugged in overnight because it may drain the battery. Its kinda doubletalk.

I looked at my owner's manual and it seems to indicate that the 12V power outlet may work with the ignition off. I suspect it shuts off if the battery voltage drops below a certain level so could stay on all night if the device plugged in is not drawing much current.

I sometimes turn the radio on without the ignition on to set up navigation. It does turn off after a while, about 20 minutes, I think.
