MKC Fan - the movement of the pulses was just not programmed to do it manually. So much so that I thought I would damage the mirror. It was stuck shut and I couldn't seem to jar it loose. I drove home with essentially no mirrors.
When I got home and locked the door everything went back into place. I had tried every thing before this.
