This week I received my 2016 MKC Reserve in Midnight Sapphire with the White Sands Interior.

I had been test driving and researching many cars since the beginning of September. I was looking at the Nissan Murano, the Lexus NX200, the Ford Escape Titanium edition, Mazda CX5, and the Audi Q3. The decision was narrowed down to the MKC and the Murano. I was really set on the Murano but the Sync 3 system, the beautiful interior, and some other features sold me on the MKC.

A co-worker of mine recently bought a MKZ and recommended a salesman at the Stamford, CT Lincoln dealership. I went to the dealership, test drove a MKC, and started negotiating. The only problem was the exact car i wanted (reserve, midnight sapphire, white sands interior, no other options) was at another dealership. It took two weeks to arrive but it was definitely worth it.

The MKC is a wonderful car to drive. The ride is extremely smooth and the car is so quiet. The push button shift transmission is very cool. I also like the foot activated lift gate, the Lincoln iPhone app that starts your car from anywhere in the world (as long as you have an internet connection), and the panoramic sunroof. Another feature that is really nice is the ambient lighting in the car but one of the coolest things about the car is the welcome lighting. Seeing the Lincoln emblem lit up on the ground is very cool.

With all those features and options being great, the best thing about the 2016 MKC is the Sync 3 entertainment system. Compared to all the other cars I test drove, this has to the best system out there. It looks great and is very fast. When you touch a button, it immediately responds (compared to the previous generation). The navigation is very accurate, it speaks street names, and recalculates routes immediately. The app integration is good (but not great). I can use Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio but my iPhone has to be connected via USB and the apps have to be open on the phone. I hear this will change once Lincoln updates the system next year with Apple Carplay. The only thing that I am missing is HD Radio but that comes in a $995 speaker upgrade which I didn't need.

When I bought the car, I bought the Auto Armor package (after some negotiation). They treated the car yesterday and it was well worth it. The cars surface is as smooth as glass. It feels amazing to touch and slide your hand all over it.

I have only put a couple hundred miles on the MKC but everything in the car is working great. After doing a lot of research, spending time on this forum, and test driving the MKC multiple times, I am really happy I chose this car.

Congrats on your new car, but Mike your killing me! It looks as if we have the same exact car except mine is a 2015 hence the last generation Sync. They just did an update to our Sync and it is working better and includes a few more features (like Siri), but I'm sure the Sync 3 is better. However, I still like my ability to upload personal photo's onto the center stack screen...it's been a real hit to everyone in the car but I understand they deleted that function in the 16's. The Sync 3 more than makes up for it :) I did not test drive the Murano because it is larger - mid size SUV and I was really looking to go a bit smaller, but I did take a quick look at it and it looks really nice. Just wondering, what were the big differences for you between the MKC & Murano? Enjoy your new ride!!!
The main feature i liked about the Murano was the V6 engine which has become a rarity in the small/mid size CUV/SUV market. The Murano is a great car with a beautiful exterior (love the rear lights) and an interior that feels huge. Also it is cheaper than the MKC. However, the MKC has a powerful but not gas guzzling turbo 4, Sync 3, embedded modem, panaromic sunroof, great styling, quiet, 2 year complimentary maintenance, and a 4 year warranty. Also, i got a better deal on the MKC than i was expecting (due to some rebates i wasn't aware of) and I got exactly what i wanted for my trade-in plus 0% interest for 4 years.

One other thing I want to mention that is better than any other car that I looked at is getting 6 months of SiriusXM plus 6 years of the traffic and travel link. You get the full Sirius package including internet streaming and all the NFL games. Most of the other cars I looked at only included 3 months of the base Sirius package which does not include internet streaming.

Congratulations! That Midnight Sapphire is one of my MKC favorite colors. And so happy to hear about your good experience with Sync 3. Thanks for sharing your photos—I can see you made an extra effort to get some good shots. I did a little Photoshop on my favorite one; I hope you don't mind.
