I assume we all know that with the MKC being part of Lincoln's rebirth they're also trying to lure in younger buyers as well (no offense to any in the older end of the demographic as this is really a very versatile car for just about any age group).

I'm curious on the age or age group that some of the people on this forum fall into.

Please post whether you've:

  • Ordered an MKC
  • PIcked up your MKC
  • Plan to buy (and in approx how many months)
  • Just exploring
As well as your age.

Me:

29 years old
Plan to buy in about 4 to 5 months (Nov-Dec timeframe)

If your build date is week of July 14th your dealer should have ur VIN # now. Check with the concierge via e-mail or call.

Ordered my MKC back in May, and still waiting for delivery.

I got my VIN. I just don't understand where you guys/girls get the build date. My dealer previously told me mid-June, and now end of July delivery...

61 YO Male. Order MKC about 2 weeks ago.

Being a marketing guy, the demographics of the "early adopters" will be different than the typical customer. Additionally, since Lincoln has not done the typical advertising for the MKC yet, the early adopters will be more similar to the typical Lincoln customer since they already have an awareness of the brand and product. When they roll out the advertising in September (I think that is when I read it was scheduled), the demographics will change considerably.

Thanks, I did after reading your reply. Concierge told me only dealer can supply VIN #'s due to Security reasons. Re contacted dealer & they promptly sent a scan of order w number. Now what can I find out online? Build week of 7/14.

I spent an hour in the Lincoln showroom today. Gave the MKC a thorough examination. It fits just right. I will wait until a dealer has one with the 2.3 engine before I will drive it so I can experience performance. I am way outside the demographics at 74. Current vehicle is Infiniti; wife has a Bimmer.

I've always found demographics a funny thing for companies to aim at. "We want X people with Y characteristics and Z ambitions to purchase our product" Silly fools, they'll sell it to whoever has the dollars for the dotted line.

Don't wory Jim I don't think you'll be "discriminated" ;):D:cool:
