Reverse Camera Active guidelines missing or not included?

Hi there folks!
3 week owner of 2015 MKC with 102 and climate package, No technology package, I didn't it was worth the extra money. I love the car so far, very comfy, its definitely worth the better leather seat.

My question, Do you guys have the active guideline when you put your car on reverse, P. 200 on the manual. When i first got my car, I thought I had it and then its gone missing. I went to the dealer and they checked it and come to find out it does NOT come with the 102 reserve package according to them. I didn't think it is correct thats why im asking for your help to check your Mkc's. It such helpful when your doing a reverse to have it.

I know the MKZ have it and I know alot of lower end ford models have them too! I called Lincoln and they said if my system is 3.6 and above, they removed this feature, again it doesn't make sense why they would remove it?

Please help me figure this out?

Thanks.

No it is not there. Probably some attorneys decided those lines created some kind of liability. It is odd that the manual calls them out though.

So without knowing either of your build dates it is a little tough to come to a conclusion.
Mine shows lines. You mean the red yellow green boxes too right? As I back up I see lines that guide me straight and if I am backing up and there is something behind me as I get closer "boxes" come up that go from green to yellow to red as I get closer. Yours does not do that?
The boxes with different colors are there but the active guilines arent. I guess im not the only one. I thought mine is broken.build Date 12/14. I dont understand why they didn't include it. I have to call lincoln and complain. All ford with the 8" screen have them I think.
Just another data point, the 2016 reverse camera works the same as mmoretti described.
I believe the thread starter is talking about arced lines in the rear camera that show back up path corresponding to how the front wheels are cut? Not the boxes, arcs.
Have not seen that on my October 2014 built Reserve, but I do not have the Tech package with Park Assist.

Got them in mine....
Yes im talking about the white lines and moves as you turn the wheels where it would predict where the car go as you reversing. Its very helpful. I have reserve and climate package but no tech package. The mkz with the 102 have this feature and same with many ford cars that dont have tech package.
I called lincold today and they said that feature was never removed from the newest update. I did told them that it should have been included.Thats why im checking with you guys who have it, if any, that doesnt have the tech package.
Its on P.200 on the manual.
By the way, here she is! Thought id share pic, pretty satisfied with the car other than this minor active reverse guideline not included in out non tech package car!

On page 200 of the owner's manual in the middle column, it says the following:
Active guidelines: Show the intended path of your vehicle when reversing. This feature is only available on vehicles with active park assist.
I hope this answers your question!

Thanks for clarification. I must have missed that.

Im just shocked that my unclea edge have it, same as my coworkera ford focus! Its really helpful.

Here is a pic for those membera that are not familliar, the white line predicts where the car go base on your input on the steering.
I wonder if they changed this on the 2016?

Right from p. 200 in the Owners Manual

path of your vehicle when reversing. This

active park assist.

Active Park Assist is only available with the Technology Package.

Not changed for 2016.

Perhaps the other Ford/Lincoln vehicles you drove that had Active guidelines also had the Technology Package?
No, the fords I driven or the people that I know that have them dont have the technology package. Thats why I wish they would include it in our cars.
Any Fords with active park assist have the active guidelines. If the vehicle doesn't have active park assist, it won't have active backup guidelines.

This is not true. I driven two Ford Edge in the last 3 months, my uncle works for a Ford dealer and he drives demo cars. The last one, which he still driving, does NOT have active park assist and so was the last one but both have active guidelines. When I go to his place, I will take a picture of the sticker outside.
OK, I've been wondering about this as well. I've got a 2015 (Don't have build date w/ me.) I don't have active park assist. My manual does NOT say that on page 200. It just says "Active Guidelines: Show the intended path of your vehicle when reversing." NOWHERE does it state active park assist is involved. I've wondered about this b/c both my MIL's older Navigator and her current MKT have the curved lines and (off topic) my wife's Yukon XL (which has no park assist) has the curved lines as well.
I have the guidelines on my screen when in reverse. they don't curve tho. I don't have active park assist.

I have the fixed guidelines. I'm talking about the ones that curve. Those are called active guidelines.

I wonder if my manual was printed earlier? More importantly, why do they think only park assist folks need this?
