What are ALL the correct parts? How are we to know?Horror story!!!!!!!!!!!
I took Cyrus in for the appointment to change out the satellite antenna and address the front seats not getting very warm....... Good News is the seats were fixed with a "reprogram" but when I pick up the car (Much) later the story changed, they told me the reprogram was not all, they replaced the seat bottom which had a better "grid" inside for better transfer of heat & cool. I just picked it up so I have no idea if it worked or not.
Now, to the rest of the story....
LINCOLN told me and the service writer on the phone BEFORE making the appointment for the fix that "ALL PARTS ARE IN STOCK & ARE READY TO SHIP". So they were ordered, dealer painted the new fin in advance of the appointment. The switch over took a day and a half then I get a call, they were missing a part but would order it and ship overnight. Next day the part did not come in, then found out the part was backordered for another month. They tried to find a part somewhere/anywhere but could not, so I picked up Cyrus with the job not finished after 9 days. I called Lincoln client relationship (again) got the canned speech "I'm sorry to hear this, you are a priority to Lincoln...blah, blah, blah"
My car was at the dealer for 9 days.............. I guess that is considered priority service!
My advice to anyone else is to WAIT until the dealer can guarantee that ALL CORRECT parts are available and physically at the dealer before making the appointment to change over.
The TSB requires replacement of the driver and passenger "seat cushion pad" and the driver and passenger "seat back pad," a total of 4 parts. The last few digits of the seat back pads are 4810-B (passenger) and 4811-B (driver). Did the dealer replace both the seat cushions and back pads on Cyrus?Horror story!!!!!!!!!!!

We've been working with a Ford dealership nearby and have been waiting for parts too. We took it in in mid-July when they said the parts were finally in. They did the tear down and started to do the installation when they realized that one of the parts was delivered broken. They returned all the parts (as they all come as a set) and reordered. The second set of parts came in last week. When they called I asked them to check all the parts to make sure they all arrived and that none were broken. Sure enough the order was missing the antenna.....so again we wait.I've never got mine fixed. It's been 2 months, and my dealer has still not called me back yet for any parts.
I don't want to be negative, but I gotta say that I will hardly return to that dealer at all. And as far as the brand goes, I don't have much things to vent when I'm waiting for domestic parts over 2 months. That's quite ridiculous! Might as well make parts in Zimbabwe, and ship it by boat: I bet ya, it would be even faster than made in the USA.
Now, I don't give a da*n about Sirius anymore, be it fixed or not. I paid 3 months premium, and cancelled it. I told em that OEM antennae from Lincoln sucked, and I don't need anything back from Sirius nor Lincoln! My money stays in my pocket for such poor undeserved services.
I guess I am lucky to have a decent Ford/Lincoln dealer nearby. My Sirius experience was exactly the opposite of yours. I emailed my Service Manager to do the (1) 7500 Mile Service, (2) check the AC/Heated Seats TSB, (3) Check some rough shifting issues (4) Fix the Sirius problem. Got an appointment a few days later. They had the MKC for 2 days and delivered it back to my house with everything taken care of. When they washed it, it looks like they even put that stuff on your tires that makes them shiny. Not something I would do (or have ever done), so they must have!I've never got mine fixed. It's been 2 months, and my dealer has still not called me back yet for any parts.

Maybe the just figured out that the replacement shark fin antenna needs to be painted? We have joined the Bermunda Triangle of Sirius Radio repairs. We were scheduled today at 12:30. We went to dealership at the appointed time and picked up an MKC loaner and went to lunch. Got a call from the dealership within 20 minutes to return the loaner and re-schedule the Sirius TSB as some of the parts were damaged when they opened up the box. We are now asked to return at 9 AM a week from now and that we should plan on leaving our car overnight. Something seems a little fishy to me. Today was supposedly only a 4-5 hour repair. Now they want the car overnight next week. Why the different amount of time scheduled??
I suspect they just realized the extent of the work to be done. The Sirius fix is not an easy one, there area lot of parts. One time constraint seems to be that they have to paint the antenna. I would say that overnight is even optimistic. Mine was a 2-day affair, but they were doing several unrelated things in addition to the Sirius fix - heated seat TSB, reflash the PCM and the 7500 mile maintenance. I was not in a huge rush, so I did not push it. I would rather they take the time to do it right. We have joined the Bermunda Triangle of Sirius Radio repairs. We were scheduled today at 12:30.
