Well, Im at the 6 month mark of MKC ownership and yesterday Sirius XM expired! I have my own music I like to listen to, so NO great loss to me, but it comes in handy when I feel like listening to uninterrupted ad free music, or to change things up!
A week ago I called this company to renew my subscription....after I started receiving calls to renew, I'd answer the call, and the agent tells me to call Sirius back for renual!!!!you would think I am asking for a free service!!!! horrible "agents" most had no clue what to do or how to proceed.....like, how do people like this score a job with a company!
Friday, I spoke to some agent, put me on hold to "get someone that knows how to renew".....38 minutes later, elevator music or prerecorded messages how someone will be with me momentarily.....38 minutes Im still holding!!! I just hung up....horrible service, clueless "agents"...Sirius MX used to be ok to deal with around 2011, but boy, the service is just horrible nowadays.
I'm seriously thinking of cancelling the current account I have on the Mustang GT and completely dropping this company for good!
Anyone else having difficulty with this company, specifically Canadians, share any experiences you had with them!

Never had a problem with Sirius in fact we have four subscriptions between our cars and motorhome and everytime one of our subscriptions run out I call and negotiate them down to the lowest rate (half price for 6 months then I call back and get the next 6 months)for the all access package. So easy and never had a problem with a rep. We just say it's too much money what can they do?
Yes you do have to call them but we are not forking out $300 (cost with new fees they added to Sirius we used to lay $129/year)a year for each vehicle. They also "suspend" our motorhome subscription for us during the winter. Maybe it's just the US but I found they are fairly easy to deal with. Maybe because we've been multiple subscribers from the beginning. I do the same with our direct tv deal. They shoot it up to $200 a month, I call and say too much, then it goes back down to $140. They are easy to negotiate with too but it's just the time you have to take to make the phone call.

I think it's a Canadian specific part of the operation where they are completely clueless....I can live with a $200 a year premium....I cannot live with acute ignorance on how to run an aspect of ANY business that involves renewal,or lack off!....this is the basic bread & butter of any company!
Not sure I follow you when you say:
"everytime one of our subscriptions run out, I call and negotiate them down to the lowest rate (half price for 6 months then I call back and get the next 6 months) for the all access package."
They usually offer a reduced rate for the first 6 months, IF you choose the yearly billing package, at least that's what they do here....so are you suggesting you subscribe for 6 months...then it expires? so you call again and repeat the process?.....I got the 6 month reduced rates on my Mustang then it automatically continues to be billed on a monthly basis to my credit card. if I need to cancel, I must give them a clear notice to end my subscription 30 days in advance.... might be different from US SiriusXM policy to Canadian policy....just trying to understand how you're managing this....

Actually you are right, after 6 months we usually get this card in the mail about subscription expiring and an offer for 6 months reduced rate...so maybe I'm not negotiating all that much LOL and explains why it's easy to do. My wife usually chucks the card in the garbage prompting me to say "did we get a notice about Sirius expiring yet". Which is my prompt to call them and get another 6 months at that rate. My subscription does not expire at 6 months, just the rate goes back up if I don't call (billed monthly) and I believe that's when I call them without a notice and get the rest of the year at a reduced rate.
I'm not sure if things work differently in Canada.

I have had my MKC for 6 months and my Sirius subscription is expiring this week. I have received several emails and phone calls to renew. The price they are offering is 6 months for $30. It's a decent price at $5 per month plus tax and stupid royalty fees. I would never pay full price for satellite radio when there are so many other options like Pandora, iHeartradio, Spotify, Apple music, Google Play music, your own music collection, and local radio stations.

I had the service on my Prius for 6 years and now on the MKC. I always call and say I want to cancel because the rack rate is too high. I did so again today for the MKC service. They offered to cut the rate in half, to a little over $100 a year. Too high. Okay, if you don't want to pay that much, how about $54 for 6 months? Too high. Well, then, I'll give you our best rate: 5 months inclusive of taxes and invoice fee ($2) for $30.33. Deal.

It's a hassle to call and go through this each time, but they're always very pleasant and willing to deal. Took maybe 5 minutes. I ask for an invoice; the company is a bit of a weasel and I don't want to give them a credit card.

Wow, I'm going to have to see what kind of deal I can get. I've been paying about $63 every 3 months because I keep forgetting that the end of the 3 months is approaching and next thing I know, another 3 month charge has gone through on my credit card. I hate that I can't choose to cancel via the web site.....I have to call them to cancel. And I also hate that there is no way to turn off auto renew and instead get billed.

Hey country guy....I can tell ya, you can do a LOT better than that....I never liked the auto billing system they use, but it's how they get ya.....keep tabs by going to their site and choose "my accounts" and you know exactly when your cut off dates are....I'm the first to admit, it's a pretty cheesy company, push and you will get better rates. When I called,I went with cancellations and spoke to this ops in Nova scotia....told him I wanted to cancel cause their rates are just too high for my liking....he dangled a few "deals" but I said, still too pricy.....till I got the deal I wanted.

While I have your attention: there is an amber button, just above the blue cooled drivers seat icon....what does that do? you can toggle "Off/On" and it either goes on or off.
Any idea????

OH I know when the cut off date is....I just keep forgetting when it comes close. Other companies where I have automatic billing, send out a remind a week or so before so that I know it is coming up but XM does nothing....they want you to forget so that you get billed for another cycle! I got them this time however....I changed my billing info to a cancelled credit card so this time it won't go through!!! :)

I don't know what amber button you are referring to.....on the home screen or the climate screen? Or are you referring to the actual buttons below the screen...the round button with a partial vertical line? if that's it...that is the power on/off button.

It is the on/off button for the climate control.

oh wow.....thanks country guy.....so, in OFF it shuts the climate control right down?

Yes OFF turns the climate control system off. When you are driving with the windows open, moon roof open....you don't want to be running the A/C right as that would be pointless so you shut the climate control off.
